Wade is being forced to step up too soon and that's my mean ssue with this fight.

In terms of skills both men are about equal, Wade had the better resume but stylistically Barrera has a better chance at beating Ward than Wade dies of beating GGG.

This is how I feel about the Wade-Golovkin match up. I'm sure he didn't plan on being put in front of Golovkin but injuries & delaying have him now scheduled as his mandatory. If I'm Wade's trainer, promoter, or manager I'm telling him to pass up on this fight. He's still relatively young compared to the other middle weights & from looking at his Soliman fight, he's not ready for this kind of step up. Unless he drastically improves or happens to hit a whole other level in the next two months, he is at risk of getting seriously beaten down.

With Barrera I feel he is going to get soundly beaten by Ward but time isn't on his side and this is a opportunity he has to take. Given his older age he is also likely to give it everything he has because I don't think he can rebound career wise from a loss to Ward.

          They're not too far off.

I think people are just relieved Ward isn't fighting a total bum. Barrera may not be an atg win but he has a pulse and that's a big relief.

Wade on the other hand will be GGG's most unremarkable opponent in recent times so there's not much buzz.

            - IBF ranked #3
            - Pro record 18-0-0(12KO)
            - Mandatory to fight GGG

            Sullivan Barrera:

            - Amateur record 258-27
            - IBF ranked #1
            - Pro record 17-0-0(12KO)
            - Mandatory to fight Kova

They both have a similar Pro record. To me they are pretty even in terms of rankings, opposition and skills(barrera edged it here though).

then my real question is...Why are there so many people bashing on GGG, and not Ward?
Just beacuse this is Ward second fight at LHW he gets a pass?

is it me or Gennady is slowly getting some hate in social media and in this forum?

            please your thoughts....
I think the difference here is the amount of hype that GGG generates.

I think it's a better fight for Golovkin than Tureano Johnson, yes the stoppage in a fight he was winning vs Stevens was bs but Wade is a new face so it gives Golovkin the chance to clean the middleweight scene further.

However in terms of match-ups, Barrera looks to be much better vs Ward than Wade is vs Golovkin. Wade might get the Lajuan Simon treatment where Barrera could give Ward a Bika-battle.
I think barrera has the better resume. Wade could barely beat a washed up 41 year old soliman by split decision while barrera beat murat better than bhops and cleverly did. That guy Houkiam or whatever his name is from france went the distance with mehkotev the gold medalist by barrera stopped him.

Mekhontsev went the distance with lots of foes who've been stopped by fringe contenders.
But Ward went 12 vs Miranda and Green.
