The frustration with Golovkin is that there aren't many fighters that are 'worthy' of fighting him bar Alvarez. Where as with Ward there is a ton of big fights that could, should but unfortunately won't be made.

I don't think Ward fighting Barrera is that bad, first fight in the division so there is an excuse. However, will he then fight someone top 5? Or will he fight someone like Nathan Cleverly or Edwin Rodriguez again or Tommy fuckin' Karpency.

Ward has no reason to start from the bottom at 175 but he will, I doubt he'll beat the best in that division and retire with a mediocre LHW run.
According to Fat Dan there is a target date of November 19 for Ward/Kovalev. What more can you ask for?

But I agree. If Ward shows against Barrera that he is still a top level fighter, he needs to progress with his level of opposition.

Ward's first fight at the full LHW limit and he's getting trashed for fighting a top 10 LHW ranked fighter?

barrera is not top 10 and i'm guessing you forgot when everyone said ggg was a ducker for trying to fight froch who was #1 at the time in his first fight at 168. if only those ward fans met these ward fans. even thoguh they are the same people lets see if we can arrange a meeting.

I become disillusioned at times with boxing, why Pac-Mayweather never happened when it should've and why it's so hard to get great fighters fighting each other.

If Ward fights Kovalev > Stevenson > whoever is the next best contender, I'll eat my hat.
yea i don't see it happening. "injuries" will happen or the negotiations won't get settled or some sh-it. eventually kovalev will lose taking more risks and ward will prob fight the guy that beat him and proclaim to be the best. seen it many times.

Negotiations shouldn't be made public, that's part of the problem. But Sullivan Barrera, another Main Events fighter is putting up his mandatory title shot at Kovalev on the line to fight Andre Ward. On top of that, Andre Ward wouldn't even be on HBO unless he agreed to fight Kovalev in writing. It looks like HBO strong armed him and Ward will pay consequences if he backs out of this deal. If the fight doesn't happen, he will get rightfully criticized and it will hurt him financially.

But now is not the time to criticize. He's not even a relevant fighter right now. Unranked, inactive, coming off several injuries and no meaningful win in years.

If he fought Kovalev today, it would probably do less than 97k on PPV and be fought in front of 12 people in Oakland. Neither guy is a household name and unfortunately, money is what gets the elite fighters in the ring together.

                Yea...that's right.

This is the first test of his second career run. I'm just happy to see him in the ring at this point. The hype for Ward vs Kovalev is under the assumption that Ward hasn't lost a step due to inactivity. He's fighting a guy who win a title eliminator to become Kovalev's mandatory. If Ward wins, he will become mandatory challenger for the Krusher.

Golovkin is an active champion in which 2 of his last 3 fights have been against unranked fighters that have never even fought a scheduled 12 rounder or won a title eliminator. Pure garbage.

Funny how you have known racists and anti-Haymon cult members kissing Dominic Wade's ass

Just a few months ago he was a protected Haymon prospect who got a gift decision over Sam Soliman. I SEE RIGHT through you fools!
GGG-Wade and Ward-Barrera are similar level fights. You criticise the GGG fanboys trashing this fight, but seem a little quiet on people trashing Wade but supporting this.

                  Both matchups have surrounding circumstances:

GGG vs top 10 Wade (No.10 by TBRB) as a mandatory fulfilment for the sanctioning body that is really strict on their rules, the IBF. His options were unification, a very slim chance of that happening, or drop the belt. Poor matchup.

Ward vs top 20 Barrera, with Ward coming off a significant layoff, getting back into the mix. Whats to write home about? Its a comeback fight against a top 20 opponent. Hard to get hyped about the matchup, I think its more the return of Ward that's relevant.

Both are pretty shoddy matchups. If we're going to criticise one, lets criticise the other

TBH if it was Sam Soliman fighting GGG I doubt anyone would be criticizing him but Wade got the decision and will face Grim Reaper Golovkin

Explain to me how this fight is intriguing? Ward is level above this guy, yet you try to hype it up. I aint complaining abt the match up, since Ward has been out for awhile and is moving up in weight. But to hear someone try to say its intriguing, u should save urself the embarrassment.

Ward will be him pretty easily , than maybe by the end of the year, we get Ward-Kov. I know u probably got offended cause I was like with one of those guys who ****s on Ward and u like Ward so much, but it aint the case, I dont have a problem with the fight, just people hyping it up.
