750k is not excessive. Sure it doesn't take that much to raise a child but the courts don't look at it that way. Tarver could pay 20k a year and the child could be well taken care of. But that's not the point. The child should be entitled to the same level of lifestyle as the father. If Tarver is riding in a Mercedes the child needs to be riding in a Mercedes also. I pay child support and I agree the children should be afforded the same lifestyle as the non-custodial parent. The non-custodial parent should suffer before the child.

There is a middle ground. It's called not ******** away your child support money. What he's being ordered to pay is what he agreed to pay. He's in arrears. It's not like this 750k came out of nowhere. He's behind in his payments. When he made the agreement he was capable of paying what he agreed to. His problem is he hasn't been making payments. I'm in the same situation as Tarver. As an independent contractor I don't get my child support payments withheld from my pay. I'm responsible for paying on my own. If I stopped paying I would be in arrears. If I go thru a hard stretch where my income is significantly less than what I expected it's up to me to go to the child support office and show them I'm not getting what I once was and the payments will be adjusted. I've done it before. These courts aren't as unfair to men as people think they are. You gotta stay on top of the situation. He's made bad decision with his money. His child should get what's owed, even if that means Tarver ends up in the poorhouse.

The bottom line is it takes legislators to fix whats unfair about many of the current laws surrounding child support payments from non-custodial parents. The problem is it'll never change because what politician will dare present a bill on the matter and not immediately be criticized as anti-women, anti-family, anti-child, etc. It's political career suicide. Many acknowledge that there are serious issues with some of the laws, but none will jeopardize their political career on the matter.

I can't believe it's 2016 and we still have judges giving women so much money in child support. It's a shame. You ruin a man's life so a woman can live off money she doesn't even need.

Lets say if he owed 16 years worth... thats still 750/16 = $47,000 a year

It doesnt cost 47k to raise a ****ing kid. Thats after taxes. Before taxes thats equivalent to someone making about 60k a year. Thats enough for the lazy ***** to not even have to work!

Plus there is no accountability system, anyone getting child support should be required to keep it in a separate account and show records on everything they spend it on. The kid gets the money at 18. If theyre caught wasting the money, they dont get it anymore.
