Both r sorry ass fights but atleast Amir has plenty of advantages in this fight. Alot actually, he would have a much better chance if his chin wasnt weak and had experience with the weight.

Mayweather had all the advantages besides activity but he stayed in shape iv's or not. Marquez being p4p didn't mean jack **** when ur shorter, slower, and huge reach disadvantage. Saying Marquez beat Pac doesnt justify him as a welter cause pac doesnt belong there either.

Just call it what it was and thats a very good cherry pick. Same as what canelo is trying and probably will do, as judges will be with him also. This was also a powermove against GGG at the negotiations, wbc will have to strip him if he wants the belt or drop weight.

Chudd nailed it on the first page.

JMM was a HoFer, the no.1 (lineal?) lightweight in the world (coming off wins over Casamayor and Juan Diaz) and Mayweather was coming off a 2 year layoff. And this was still a horrible cherry pick.

Khan is a former good JWW, an average WW, with a crap chin, crap defence, and no power. Alvarez is in his prime, has the stylistic advantage, is much much bigger etc etc.

A lot of the people posting here said they wish Floyd would go away and retire. He retired and they still find ways to talk about him every single day. Just admit youre really a Mayweather fan and you miss him.

marquez was the lineal LW champion. he was coming off of an absolute war with juan diaz, which isn't a good thing. that fight won fight of the year, and marquez took tons of punishment.

he was also walking around at just above 130 during the week of the second diaz fight, according to interviews. that means he was 133.5 in his fight AFTER floyd. they were naturally 2-3 weight classes apart.

the size differnence between floyd - marquez is bigger than canelo - khan. marquez is a better fighter than khan, but at least the size difference isn't as great. khan's actually taller and has longer arms than canelo.

let's not forget that marquez looked fat and useless against floyd, and that he went through a second puberty with memo heredia and completely changed his career. that fight was the definition of a light touch. and so is khan - canelo.

if you want to further contextualize the cherrypick, marquez went to war with juan diaz and mike F#ckin katsidis at or around the time of the mayweather fight. these are lightweights, and limited ones, too. katsidis was actually already on the slide. went to war with marquez, even dropped him. then he went out and fought a natural WW who was on the P4P list prior to taking a break from boxing when WW was heating up.

                2. Floyd vs JMM wasn't for a title at some imaginary weight class of 155. The lineal middleweight title as a matter of fact. Floyd vs Jmm was a tune-up coming off of the layoff mentioned before.

                3. While JMM can be caught early and knocked down he has never been stopped. Meanwhile Khan is known for a glass chin, has been stopped by lesser punchers than Canelo, not to mention he looked less than impressive and got rocked by Chris Algieri, Chris freaking Algieri!!!!

While I will say Floyd's win over JMM isn't impressive to me, Canelo folding Khan will be even less impressive

Lastly, will you fools stop bringing up Floyd to try and justify this match-up, it's embarrassing.
This is how I feel too.

And Khan went to war with Algieri - a light welterweight as preparation to Canelo?

if you compare khan's fight with algieri with marquez - diaz, the fight of the year according to ring mag, you're a lot less knowledgable than i thought.
