In my book Khan makes Mayweather, PAC, Marquez & Bradley look soft. Sure he wants money, but those other 4 want money too. Risk averse boxers the 4 of them.
I will be hoping Khan wins, but praying he doesn't get hurt.
Can you elaborate on how Khan makes Mayweather, Pacquiao and Marquez look soft? Mayweather had 27 fights at 130, he had more fights at 130 than he did at 135-154 combined, and he had more fights at 130 than any other weight class he fought in. With that said, he fought Canelo at Junior Middleweight in his 5th weight class, and he fought there 3 times against two #1 JMW's and one #3 JMW (WBC champ De La Hoya). That is 24lbs from the weight class he started in, Khan fighting at 155lbs is 20lbs from the weight class he started in. To match what Mayweather did he'd have to fight at 160, which would be 25lbs from 135. To make Mayweather look soft, Khan would have to fight at 168lbs, which would be 6 weight classes.
It's more of the same with Pacquiao, he started at 108lbs and fought all the way up to Jr MW. Pacquiao took more risks fighting Cotto, Clottey and Bradley than Khan is taking fighting Canelo.
Again, with Marquez, more of the same thing. Marquez was a Featherweight who is now fighting at 147. JMM has fought in 5 weight classes and he was The Ring/Lineal/WBO/WBA 135lb champion by beating The Ring/Lineal champ Joel Casamayor in his first fight at 135, and then beating the #1 ranked Juan Diaz for the vacant WBO/WBA titles. He was the 126 IBF/WBA champion, the 130 WBC champion, and at 147 he has a better win than Khan has in his whole life.
So if i'm misunderstanding your accusation of risk aversion being done by Mayweather, Pacquiao, Marquez, sorry. If I am understanding it, please elaborate.

Khan is definitely taking on much more risk. No catch weight???
That doesn't impress you?

Khan is taking on a risk, no where in my post did I say that doesn't impress me, it's a big risk. I'm replying to what you said that Khan, a former Lightweight, is making former Super Featherweight champion Floyd Mayweather, former Featherweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez and former Flyweight champion Manny Pacquiao, look soft by taking on Canelo at 155lbs when they've already done even more than that. And what's crazy is that Floyd already fought Canelo at junior middleweight when he was undefeated, and Floyd comnig from 130 to 152 to fight Canelo is actually a bigger risk than Khan coming from 135 to 155 to fight Canelo. So I can't really understand your where these three fighters are averting risks, and how Khan fighting Canelo at 155 is so much more dangerous than what those 3 have gone through in their career? If anything, if Khan beats Canelo at 155lbs, then he'd be on his way to match what those 3 guys did already.
You have a case with Bradley for sure, Bradley has an excellent resume but Khan has him beat in risk taking now with the Canelo fight. The other 3? No way.

All I was trying to say is a guy, Khan, who I berated is taking a bigger risk than The 4 guys I mentioned.
I really underestimated Khan. Maybe I am the only one. His stock rose big time with me, his fans can't believe I and hoping he doesn't get to hurt. PAC is th CW King! I just like a guy who goes against his best interests. A man who believes in himself.
tim bradley signed a long term deal with top rank and fought manny pacquiao 3 times on PPV. he made the right call monetarily, and he took on a much bigger risk fighting manny pacquiao than he would have fighting amir khan.
took a bigger risk in fighting an aging but still viable pound for pounder and all time great with punching power
made more money
how did he duck amir khan?
You can slice and dice it all you want, you can sugar coat it whichever way you want, Didn't change the fact that Bradley ducked Khan after calling him for a fight in July of that year. He himself admit he ducked Khan and even ask what happens if I lose to Khan.
So get off your high horse about " He fought Pac a million times blah blah blah..." He ducked the fight after accusing Khan of "Running out there", him ending up fighting Pac or whoever later on doesn't erase those facts.
Why wouldn't you have an issue with the others? Was it because Bradley claimed he was being ducked???
I get it. Bradley should not have said crap.
Not only because of what Bradley said but the fact that those 3 names have fought everyone in the sport, they had the rights that Khan doesn't have to get a fight with them. Bradley on the other hand at that point didn't have those right.
