This is pretty ridiculous. Can never even flirted with the idea of junior middleweight. He is a small-ish welterweight. Who lost to the likes of Lamont Peterson. Who looked terrible against Chris Algieri although he won. Who lacks power. In what world does he think he stands a chance against, when they get in the ring on fight night, a light heavyweight? Con doesn't even make it a good pay per view maybe if it was in the UK but definitely not in Vegas. This fight will do abysmal numbers. And there's a rematch clause. Does Canelo take a dive to avoid a fall clash with the real champ in the division?

Khan daddy has to know that it's an 8 lb difference before the weigh in an more like a 28 lb difference on fight night. There's not enough time for Khan to correctly put on the muscle to match canelos strength. He has to out think out quick and out maneuver canelo to win. I don't feel Khan is mentally strong enough to pull it off. It would be nice to know what the odds are on Khan winning

Haymon's objective has always been clear; maximize the opportunity/money for the fighter that he represents; when Glazkov blew up the Wilder fight that everyone was putting together (when the IBF title became vacant), Haymon kept his cool. He worked to get Deontay Wilder the best possible replacement (who ended up helping deliver a good chunk of the draw for the fight locally), before then positioning another one of his clients with the biggest opportunity of his career.

Haymon doesn't prevent his guys from getting the biggest opportunities available (even when the Roc Nation situation happened, Quillin walked away from the $1.4m, got to spend time with his family, and still went on to earn ~$2.5m over the three fights since walking away); wish that was the same for everyone in boxing.

I was thinking the same thing about a fixed fight to avoid ggg when I found out about the rematch clause

Talk about a mismatch. Canelo is going to look like a heavyweight.
