And why wouldn't they ask a trainer who they think their fighter could beat and who they may lose to? Still didn't acknowledge the fact that ggg said it himself on ESPN.

Because the trainer is a person and like most functioning human beings has a brain..which means he has an opinion. The only person that matters to is him and those who take his opinion to heart. Hell even Freddie has demanded "this name" and who does his fighter end up fighting? A fighters job is to fight, a trainers job is to train, a promoters job is to pick opponents that carry your investment into the green..that's life...just like you go in the morning to work for a boss, the boss' job is to make the most out of your talents, and the guy who serves you coffee's job is to make you the best cup of joe he can...this isn't hip hop where the homie dash who had a newspaper route around the way is giving anyone advice on making money.

But the trainer and the promoter's interests convene on one thing and that is the success of the fighter in the ring. Financially, maybe the promoter could care less and are actually happy with the fighter getting less, but the trainer and promoter both want the fighter to win. Therefore a promoter would likely ask a trainer behind close doors if they think their fighter is up to a certain task.

It's time for Lil G to move up to 168 lbs anyways he'll never get the opportunity to unify the titles @ 154 BJ Saunders is in no hurry to fight him and he doesn't bring in a lot of money for Nelo to take the risk.

Listen man the only time a promoter and a trainer care about each other is when it's time to cut the trainer the check..feel free to reach out to any of the semi pro boxers on this website and they'll clarify that one for you. If a promoter could get a hot selling trilogy out of a fighter they'd pair them up with god knowing they'd lose...a promoters game is not just the fight on hand but the value of the fight footage and how much demand there will be for that footage. You think PBC is just overpaying fighters for nothing? Arum makes millions upon millions a year just off the top rank archives.

The trainer doesn't get a check from the promoter, its from the fighter, but I don't think we're getting anywhere with this conversation regardless
