The biggest problem with trying to rate GGG historically is that we haven't seen him in with a great fighter. Offensive power punchers tend to look spectacular and almost unbeatable against inferior competition. And then look terrible when you put them in the ring with someone they can't overwhelm. GGG loox like an ATG against the Lemieuxs, Geales, and Murrays of the world. Put him in the ring with Andre Ward, its probably a drastically different story. Likely a drastically different story against Jones, Toney, B-Hop, Hagler, ect.

being willing and actually fighting the best is two totally different things...i wish you GGG fan boys would stop giving him credit for fights that didnt happen...it doesnt work that way and never has in boxing...on to other matter....

neither guy has been stopped and both had great chins and defense. Toney competed at heavyweight and barely got buzzed

Exactly! It is just like when ppl watch Floyd at 147-154 and say he's overrated, but not realizing that they are looking at the tail end of his career. People need to watch a 130-140 Mayweather to really see how good he was. Like now, they are seeing Roy getting concussed every fight and Toney a next meal away from a heart attack and judge them based on that. Roy and Toney were so good they were able to traverse weight classes beating top fighter in those classes. GGG hasn't even fought the best guy in his weight class, but not to say he is to be blamed, but nevertheless, facts are facts.

Exactly. And even against those mediocre list of fighters he's shown some flaws. As it stands nothing suggests that GGG is anywhere near the same stratosphere as Jones & Toney.

Exactly!!! Punchers look great against cans, but look horrible against other good fighters, then people start saying he's past it.

Tyson is known for this. Tyson look like godzilla against cans, but when he fought good competition he goes the distance. The first man who wasn't scared of him and smart enough to use his height and length to keep him at the tail end of his reach was able to knock him out. The next man who was able to withstand his power, stopped him.

Jones fought Hopkins and Toney, he even fought McCallum, though Callum was a bit past it. GGG hasn't fought nowhere close to that. Who has stopped Toney, even when he fought at lightweight or Hopkins? So, it wasn't about Jones' power per se, but a testament to the caliber of fighters those guys were and their chins.

Look when golovkin has beaten canelo,Jacobs,Saunders and then moved up and beat a Degale how will you consider him then ......resume wise he is not there yet....skill wise he is and when he beats everybody they can throw at him then we will talk.....I don't anybody beating golovkn as 160 or even 168.....he has not even been pushed yet lol
