Who did he miss that you were certain could have beat him in this era? Maragarito? the guy who lost to every A level guy he fought and also couldnt get by Daniel Friggin Santos

Paul Williams? Oh the guy decent but not great Carlos Quintana outboxed. Shouldve lost to Lara. IDK man

So fighting for your first world title at age 21 and your 18th fight isnt a risk?

by fight 34 he won titles at 3 weights...2 lineal with 11 defenses

Do you feel GGG has taken any risks...he is top 3 p4p by most sites and publications...look at who he fought, and his resume....its laughable

you need to do your own research instead of regurgitate what you heard some one say

i don't have soe kind of anti-floyd crusade, teh way you anti-manny crusaded for the last 7 years . i'm so anti floyd i paid an assload of money to fly to las vegas and watch him fight

ask the question like a man

are you asking if floyd mayweather would beat an out of shape duran?
I asked the question. you are refusing to answer and continually deflecting. fine. not answering is an answer, same as refusing to take a breathalyzer.

        Carry on.

i'm not going to dig through the thread to see you ask the question.

are you asking if floyd would beat an out of shape duran? is that what you want to know? just say yes. you want to know if floyd could beat an out of shape duran, right?

you seem to be unwilling to ask me the question when it's framed in the context of duran being out of shape . but I won't take the breathalyzer

the post you responded to was my first one. Its a very easy question to answer.

if duran was not in shape as you suggest, that would be his fault, not an excuse to deflect to.

i'll help you out, as you see attacks on floyd mayweather as attacks / threats on yourself [] :
the answer is yes, he beats an out of shade duran. that's the only duran he beats.

Every time Duran loses a fight its because he was either ill prepared, uninterested, out of shape, ate something bad before the fight, or all of the above.

I love Duran but damn... fans need to let that bull**** go.

Heres the thing about this fight,

Yes, Duran would have problems fighting Mayweather.

Yes, if Duran wasnt at his peak there is a good chance he would lose.

Yes, Mayweather would be one of the top 3-5 fighters that Duran ever fought.

                  This wouldnt be easy.

But, based on Floyds weaknesses that he has shown throughout his career fighting aggressive guys who have the skill and size (Duran was a pretty big lightweight) to back him into the ropes and put him on the defensive, I dont think that anyone would give Mayweather the advantage in a fantasy matchup. Not to say if they fought 100 times Floyd would never win, but in a one off fight, both at their best, Duran has a significant edge.

Castillo is probably the closest we will get to seeing a prime Mayweather fight vs a Duran esque opponent and Floyd struggled badly. Castillo is not as good as Duran in pretty much any aspect of boxing.

The same flaws resurfaced vs De la Hoya (who, especially early, used feints and jabs to back Mayweather to the ropes and work him over), Maidana I and even Cotto at times. None of those fighters were as good as Duran. They didnt hit as hard, didnt have as good a boxing brain, didnt judge distance as well, didnt have the reactions or timing, the toughness or stamina of an elite prime Duran.

took a very long time to answer a simple question.

SO Duran on his best night would beat Floyd and on his worst nights he wouldn't. He also lost to Benitez who isn't as good as Floyd. SO we have 3 people Duran lost to that are not as good as Floyd. All of them have a longer reach than Duran does.

For everything Duran brings to the ring, even on the night he fought SRL, he'd be dealing with Floyd who was faster and has about a 6 inch reach advantage (unheard of at 135) despite being about the same height.

This would be an epic style matchup that I think goes either way. Duran very well could beat Floyd into submission just as easily as Floyd would frustrate the absolute sh-t out of Duran by boxing on the outside. we know Floyd is NEVER going to do what SRL did in the 1st fight and try to beat DUran at his own game.

If its 15rds, I favor Duran. 12 I'd go with Floyd.

...maybe...just maybe....the opponent was the better man that night

you dont get a pass for coming in the ring out of condition. If he ever was thats his own fault. not his opponents.

Maybe he took his opponents lightly...who knows...i know one thing though....you wont see Mayweather at 21, 28, or 38 taking losses to some of the calibre fighter Duran did....Lawlor, Sims, Laing
