At this point I don't think Ward can beat Krusher.

There isn't much that you can take out of Kovalev's win tonight, he already dominated and KOed Pascal less than a year ago and Pascal looked like crap in the tune up to this rematch, Kovalev did what he was expected to do and stopped Pascal in 7, but Pascal really disappointed me because of all the talk and all the motivation he showed leading up to the fight he basically gave up after 3-4 rounds and stopped even throwing punches, Jean Pascal fought the best of his time and he took a ton of punishment throughtout his career plus he wasn't that gifted of a fighter anyways.

Ward comes from a completely different cloth, he's a much more skilled fighter with better mental toughness and ability to adapt, plus he never took any punishment in the ring, with that being said I'm not gonna make a predicition on that fight until I see how Ward looks in his next 2 fights, if he looked good beating top level opposition then it's a 50-50 fight, if not then it's Kovalev all the way.

I used to think Ward could beat him, but seeing how active and destructive Kovalev is, I doubt it

      the dude is scary good.

That guy doesn't watch anything he just goes to boxrec and pretends he knows what he is talking about.

A lot of people counting Ward out and making up stuff already, I keep seeing people say Ward can't work the clinch with Kovalev, you have to understand that Ward doesn't clinch to survive... He works the body and head constantly and tires the opponent out in the clinch. All I see from Kovalev is headlocking and rabbit punches and people say he has an advantage in the clinch. Kovalev has advantages but infighting is not one of them.

I get it Kovalev looked good in there so people are hyped on him but that was a pointless rematch of a fight he easily won the first time. Most of you thought the fight would be even more one sided and end quicker so I don't get the excitement about the result.

Agreed. That Ward was a master of disrupting his opponent's rhythm, and he'd use Kovalev's habits against him to pull out a decision. We need to see Ward fight these fights he has before Kovalev to determine whether he's still that good.

I know one thing, whoever wins Kovalev/Ward will already be an ATG in my mind, even though they won't be one yet in the eyes of history.

            PERIOD.
Ward would have to keep holding and pushing his forearms/elbows into Kovalev all night and then landing a few fast, possibly flashy counters to make it look like he is winning the rounds. If he fights like he did against Paul, looking at times slow, at times lethargic, there is no way he can beat Kovalev.

Then again, this fight isn't happening any time soon so let's forget about it.

Ward will do well, because whilst kovalev is fighting. Ward is thinking about all the ways he can spoil the fight with all his clinching and tricks. He's probably watching DVDs of Pernell Whitaker, Floyd, Willie pep etc etc

These type of fighter don't needs too fight much. All about theory and work done in the classroom

If Ward brings his 2010/11 skills up to 175 then I believe he lays a Rousification on Kovalev. Anything less and he's a dead man walking.
