I agree, furthermore Ward doesn't deserve a shot at Kovalev. He has done nothing but sit on the sidelines working harder at sabotaging potential fights as opposed to actually stepping Into the ring and fighting.

Just because it was reported on bscene doesn't mean the fight is official. I want confirmation from either camp or their promoters, and there was a video on youtube dated Jan 29 of Kathy Duva saying the fight hasn't been finalized yet. Maybe the fight has been finalized, I don't know, I need to know for sure, I mean Ward isn't saying anything.

EDIT: NM Ward confirms that the fight is almost finalized, he just needs the paperwork.

Most anticipated fight besides Canelo vs GGG or maybe even Wilder vs Fury in the UK.
All I know is Wards best shot is to smother Kov's workrate and throw bodyshots with uppercuts.
He needs to shift a lot but it will be hard because the Russian has really good footwork and isn't a dummy. He knows Ward is spoiler/counter puncher/jab doctor. Ward must take the jab away and fight on the inside otherwise....he's going have show his durability when he tastes the pain most guys who boxes for a living couldn't.
Kov is a mean muthaf*****, don't see too many fighters with real KO power in both hands that can box so well and has shown up in their biggest fights. ..he's the real deal.

I don't see Ward winning. He's relied on being the stronger man and bullying guys inside over his career. He won't be able to do that with Kovalev. And he won't be able to hit him with anything hard enough to make him think twice either.

I don't like Ward but the guy he's fighting next is pretty good. A much higher risk/reward ration than he needed to take right now I think.
