Here's the deal. You're stuck in era of boxing that doesn't exist anymore and hasn't for 20 years. This is what George Foreman has been trying to tell people.

We won't have eras with Nigel Benns and young Thomas Hearns's and young Roberto Durans and young Pipino Cuevas's. Period. We won't have eras where every fighter just wanted to fight the top dog and prove themselves.

Today's boxing - scratch that, boxing for the past 10 years really - has been about who can make the most money with the least risk. Let's step back in time.

Do you seriously believe Wilder has been tested since becoming champion? Better yet, do you seriously believe that everyone he's KO'd before becoming champion was a legit KO rather than dives?

Do you seriously believe that Grabomir Clinchko was able to beat so many competitors while doing outrageous amounts of clinching, was just random? That not a single ref disqualified him?

Do you seriously think Cotto's title win over Martinez was legit, rather than a ploy to make Cotto look good, get the belt off an aging warrior and make the most money at the least risk?

Lest we forget: De La Hoya did EVERYTHING possible to keep Floyd Mayweather from beating him for his title. Why was that okay yet Canelo can't do the same? Hell, De La Hoya was doing catchweights for over a decade.

Floyd, Cotto, Canelo, Manny, De La Hoya. All of the top names did and do catchweights. Why? Because it gives them advantage. All of them have played glove games. All of them have played ring size games. All of them have played fight date games. All of them have played fight location games.

Boxing is a business now. Accepting that it's a business evolved doesn't mean one likes it, but refusal to acknowledge the reality is just living in the past. Those days are gone.

Fact: Canelo is a big enough star that he can make demands of WBC and history has taught us they will bow down for the right draws. It doesn't matter whether you or I like that. It's how it is.

Which means GGG, as a VERY low drawing competitor who really needs this fight, needs to step up and take the risk for his future. He's the one who most stands to benefit. GGG is now where Floyd was in 2007, and he has to do what Floyd did - which is beat the odds. If he does that, he'll become a superstar. Just like Floyd did. Don't whine about it, be about it.

Pac, Floyd, Oscar asked for CWs many divisions above their first belt, always vs much bigger guy, none of them demanding a lowest possible CW, none of them sporting the lineal belt. However Canelo has 1/10 the talent. Does that entitle him for a CW 10x worse?

Dude, the nature of catchweight doesn't matter. Bloat or drain, it results in the same outcome: a fighter being less effective and an advantage for the A-Side.

All I'm saying is, they all have done it at some point in their career, thus I don't see why yelling at Canelo for doing the same thing at his level makes any sense. Don't be mad at him for going along with what's Best for Business.

To me it's like, let's get the fight signed no matter what it takes, let's test GGG and see if he's that good, because he's on record saying he'd fight Floyd at 154 anyway, thus it shouldn't be a problem. If he's that good, let's see. It didn't stop Lalonde.

If he beats Canelo and becomes THE man unifying the titles, he can "clean up the sport of Boxing" by displacing Billy Joe Saunders - who I DO think GGG can beat with ease. Or he can go up against Daniel Jacobs first for a tune up.

But clearly 155 is way more punishing than 159, right? It's the lowest possible CW at MW. And asking a much bigger guy for a CW is much more excusable than when you outweigh the other guy. And on principle, champs should never ask for CWs in their division, never mind lineal, nm trying to unify at 155 lol.

I don't care what weight the fight gets made but I'm shock at how people can't understand that he wants to fight for the 160 title at 160? Especially since Canelo is actually bigger then GGG.

How does Canleo get no backlash for this yet when GGG tried to catchweight ward people can't seem to forget it.
