    Great Journalism by Jake Donovan.

I immediately knew who was the blame here by the amount of views and replies.

People don't like to hear that it was actually the fought of someone from HBO, if not HBO. No, they just want to sit around repeating "It's Haymon's fault. Quack Quack. Haymon fighters are banned from HBO, etc, etc", without taking the time to corroborate stories.

Haymon and Team Stevenson were all on board for a joint promotion. They would fight on HBO and just cut Showtime a piece of the pie. But noooo!

At some point, people have to ask the question, if PBC/Haymon has all the top fighters and on average making all the money, WTF are Kovalev and GGG still doing with HBO and why are they continuously signing these exclusive contracts that only allows them to fight a small selection of fighters?

Smarten up boys. Go where the $$$ is and the better fighters are.

Doesn't take rocket science to figure this out.

HBO probably wants payback from Stevenson for bolting with Haymon to Showtime, after they put him on the map.

Both guys don't have that type of following right now. Both guys aren't main stream at all. The fact that HBO was willing to do a pay per view for these guys is truly amazing.

Stevenson is a fool for not taking that. I'm sorry but both guys would have been guaranteed 2 million plus a pay per view percentage I bet.

Again Stevenson has taken a major hit to his popularity while Kovalev's is growing by fight.
Showtime simply stated that there was already a template in place, to work out joint broadcasts; if they a joint PPV is out of the question, what's wrong with Showtime at least getting rights to air the re-air of the fight the next week (pair it with a Showtime Championship Boxing broadcast, likely a big fight, and Showtime still ends up delivering Stevenson's fight to their viewers)?

For a guy who "is growing by fight", it is hilarious to see that there isn't a region in the entire country where Kovalev is actually able to move tickets; unless Las Vegas lays out a massive site fee for the fight, Kovalev-Ward is likely heading to Oracle Arena in Oakland, for the simple fact that Andre Ward is already putting over 10k people into his 20k-seat building without a big HBO push.

This is a business, why won't HBO agree to a both networks showing the fight.
Why would the A Side take less on his network? what kind of thought process is that? You think Stevenson doesn't have an exclusive deal? Maybe I'm misunderstanding but it's the same reason why this fight hasnt being made this time as welll... Because showtime wants to be involved somehow... Maybe Stevenson's contract doesn't state the words "exclusive" but if he can only fight on showtime and is with Haymon that's pretty much exclusive. This isnt Pac-May where business wise it makes no sense NOT to do a joint venture. Kovalev and Stevenson is not lucrative enough for a joint venture. It sounds like Stevenson wants to talk about how "badly" he wants to fight yet negotiations say completely otherwise. In what other world would Stevenson get to fight on ppv? His side is holding everything up and now Kovalev has options and Stevenson is stuck. If Kov fights and beats Ward Stevenson will hold even less leverage than he somehow thinks he holds now. It'll be a 70-30 type split in Kov's favor...

I never had any hope this fight would happen.

The new legacy of black fighters ducking white ones continues.

But he won't accept it unless Showtime gets a slice too.

              Why?
Because Showtime, no different that what HBO has done, also invested money/time in Adonis Stevenson.

Showtime inquired about participating; if HBO was unwilling to share in the actual PPV take, why couldn't the replay of the PPV be offered to Showtime? Michel wasn't demanding that SHO be involved; he just wanted to see if the broadcaster, who backed Stevenson, could still get a piece of the biggest fight that Adonis Stevenson is likely to have.

I can understand HBO position. Though, there are only the boxing fans losing another fight they wanted. I thought HBO would find a way to deal with Showtime eventually.

Fight isn't big enough for a joint promotion. I'm over it, it had a chance of happening before Stevenson signed with Haymon, never any chance after that.

Eleider Alvarez is the WBC mandatory, make that fight for Stevenson. I doubt he wins.

Not sure how that mandatory isn't due for 6 months considering Stevenson hasn't had a mandatory since November 2013.

Ummm, This is actually the 2nd time Kathy Duva walked away from negotiations.

Maybe she had all the intentions of never making the fight in the first place which is why she went in with another fight already lined up.

So I'm not sure why you're complaining about the black fighter ducking when it was actually the white woman that walked away?

                      How do you know?

What numbers are articles do you have to back this claim up?

BTW, this fight has had plenty of chances of happening with Haymon and Team Stevenson being on board. Guess what? Duva walked away twice

At some point you should ask yourself, WTF is Kovalev and GGG still signing these exclusive contracts with HBO when PBC/Haymon has the better roster of fighters who are making the more $$ on average.
