I think wrestling might be a bigger factor. What does NSB think?

In a street fight, boxing would be more beneficial than wrestling. Most people are unskilled slobs; the threat comes from numbers or them doing something underhanded. You're better off dropping them quick and hard.

It depends really on the wrestler and the boxer.

In a street fight, anything can happen. It's never wise to underestimate your opponent

It depends on dozens of factors like the setting of the fight, (bar, sidewalk, alleyway, wet ground, dirt, sand etc etc) distance it starts from (nose to nose or say 5 metres back) and also whether alcohol and drugs are a factor (usually are)

Boxing is definitely better for multiple opponents. Wrestling is probably a safer bet if you are very drug and alcohol affected as it is a lot harder to maintain balance in your boxing stance while drunk and on drugs like weed, valium etc)

Safe to say that a highly trained boxer or wrestler of at least over 130-140lbs or so is going to destroy at least 95% ( or so) of regular dudes in a fair one on one fight. Thats not to say the little guys under 130 cant be dangerous too, its just a lot more likely someone with a significant size advantage can be too much for them.

But as anyone who has actually had several streetfights will know, there is way too many variables in a street fight situation to simplify the debate into "all wrestlers beat all boxers" or vice versa.

Because a lot of the new posters in here are kids or young adults.

I agree that a lot of those interested in this are immature, however there are times in everyones life where they have little or no choice but to fight. Especially if you're from a bad area or something. Its always good to know how to defend yourself and interesting to debate whats useful.

very good point. well taken. i just feel alot of forms of fighting are always compared to each other in terms of how well they do in a street fight. Put it this way, if you know well any form of fighting, chances are youll beat the average joe on the street whose looking for problems.
