Oh I totally understand that and don't fault him for it. Its just like when Floyd was fighting DLH and Hatton when the welterweight division probably offered better quality match-ups. Canelo is the biggest money fight in his weight range.

My only beef with him, and his fanbase is that them using not only Canelo, but title unification as an excuse to kinda put his career on hold. Its not against the rules ti take quality fights while he's waiting on Canelo. I also have an issue with him chasing guys like Billy Joe Saunders. Nobody in their right mind sees Saunders as a threat to GGG's supremacy at middleweight. Billy Joe Saunders isn't an excuse to seek top fighters at or around your division. I just wish GGG would make a play for a better fight in Apr. I suggested Degale. A lotta people are saying Lara. And if he can't get Billy Joe or Jacobs, who's bettet. Than Degale or Lara at 60 to make a play for? And if politics block those fights from happening, so be it. At least he tried. At least that's how I feel.

i don't know why other posters are ****ting on you... i find your logic reasonable. It makes sense to me why he should do those things, but it also makes sense to me why he wouldn't do some of them.

In my mind Degale would be an awesome fight but if he schools degale the Canelo fight... whatever little chance it had... won't happen, because if Degale couldn't do anything vs. GGG Canelo won't take that risk. However i could be completely off base here its just my opinion.

As far as BJS i see why GGG is chasing him, because once that belt gets into GGGs hands the Canelo fight would be even more lucrative because it will be for the unified middle weight championship... at least that's how they can dub this fight and claim that it hasn't been done in a decade blah blah blah... you can see the marketing of this fight going through the roof. is BJS a real threat to GGG? probably not but having a unified champion will tell me that GGG accomplished everything he set out to accomplish in middleweight and the only thing to do is move up to super middleweight.

Now though with IBFs ruling we will likely see another no hopper get blown out of the water... Wonder if GGG will drop the belt... though it does go against his mission statement so i somehow doubt he will drop it.

Now that he is the B-side or one could argue D-side he don't want to make the fight. GGG said he could make 154 easy even 152 for Floyd soooo making 155 for the biggest name around your weight class is mission impossible? GGG is ok with Catchweights for belts with Ward but not with CANELO. It's plain to see GGG is scared of CANELO. Team CANELO want the fight , while Team GGG are full of excuses. Push the fight at whatever weight CANELO wants guys if you guys want GGG to get respect, Glory and money & fame, quit stalling like your boy.

Lars vs GGG is interesting at best. Lara is likely getting stopped... People forget he was on his way out before he landed that punch to the eye of Angulo (who is extremely slow and crude). Ggg isn't ducking Lara. Lets be serious here...do people actually think Lara can win that fight? I don't know why he's always brought up like he's accomplished anything of note recently. If (and probably when) he stops Lara people would just say Lara was always a hype job 154 guy.

Canelo on the other hand is unfortunately (or fortunately) the A side by a significant margin and GGG is going to have to give in some area.

The Ward situation is much different. He doesn't have to lose weight and Ward is such a bore that almost any name is the A side. If that fight was to happen then that was on Ward who can't seem to get any fight going with anyone.

GGG will get his but he just needs to keep winning. Canelo is the A side but aside from Cotto (who doesnt even matter anymore as nobody wants to see a rematch of Canelo who would probably just blitz him early as Cotto doesnt have the ability or strength to do anything about it) who else is a proper B side? Jacobs might as well not even exist in the 160 division because we know a Canelo bout isn't going to happen (GGG has a slightly better chance at getting a hold of jacobs but I wouldnt bet on it)

It's only a matter of time before Canelo fights GGG. Canelo has all the time in the world, he's in no hurry so it's up to GGG to bend at some point to make it happen. Canelo is in his 20s, you think he cares if GGG wont fight him? Lol

To be fair..... saying that you can beat everyone at 168, and saying that you are willing to fight Froch and Chavez at 168..... but then refusing to fight Andre Ward unless he weighs 164..... is just as pathetic.

Those two examples are about the same.

I guess that's what having double-standards is for.
