Comments Thread For: 50 Cent Beats Yuriorkis Gamboa in Court, Contract Still Valid

50 Cent has reached a legal victory in his fight with former champion Yuriorkis Gamboa, who filed a lawsuit to break their promotional agreement. But a federal court has ruled in favor of the rapper and issued an order declaring that Gamboa's promotional agreement with SMS Promotions was still valid.

What on Earth possessed Gamboa to leave Top Rank for 50 cent?

What's the mind thought behind that?

            Warning

Feel bad for Gamboa but he has no one to blame but himself. Unfortunately

This is a prime example for the young prospects too be careful who you sign with. You have seen a lot of examples in boxing where someone who doesn't have the experience in running a promotion and thinks that it's a cake walk fail miserably.

Hopefully 50 cent does the right thing and let these guys go. Especially Ryan Martin. He has a lot of promise.

The going theory is that most anything is better than working with Bob Arum. I know Gamboa was hoping to get out of this and go to Mayweather Promotions. Too bad for Yuriorkis. He's going to become irrelevant before he gets free.

Another talented fighter that could have been great if wasn't for bad management.

Gamboa was a victim of the Mayweather/ 50 cent fallout. when Gamboa left Top Rank 50 was suppose to start TMT with Floyd . they had a fallout and 50 was irrelevant in boxing . had they not had a fallout Gamboa would've fought on all of Floyds undercards and would've got money , good opponents , and exposure . unfortunately it didn't work for him
