he's a stooge, but these guys don't make stuff up typically. their biases come into play as "gate keepers" IE they tell you what they want you to hear, and won't tell you what they don't.
i have no doubt that tickets were given away for this fight. it's common practice, and not necessarily a sign that the fight tanked. it's better to give out comps and have people buying drinks, ********, than it is to have empty seats. they all do it. the casino will do it if the promotors don't.
if they comped a large portion of the total amount of tickets it is a huge call for alarm, and a sign that they're not properly promoting the fights locally, which is a complaint i hear often when haymon fights are concerned.Comment

Depends on what he's talking about. If it pertains to PBC/Showtime/Mayweather, he knows nothing and typically has false info. Who can forget all the chatter he heard about Mayweather-Cotto II? Wonder where he got that from.Comment

I agree, Fox did seem to present PBC the best. They let the fighters have their own music to walk down, which was much better than the generic music that they used on other networks. The commentating was a little bad though. Johnson saying Garcia is fighting "Mayweather style" was beyond ******.

Again he is not the only media outlet or promoter with inside knowledge to come out and say a huge percent of the tickets are ending up be given away for free at these PBC events. Kim is just the latest to speak on it. Whether the real total sold was 3k or 4k hell even 5k the fact that these reports of mass amount of tickets they can't sell and give away is alarming for PBC.Comment

That they were negotiating, that it was on, etc. etc. All this in the middle of the Mayweather-Pacquiao negotiations last year. He's been wrong on so many occasions as it relates to PBC/Mayweather, etc. that someone needs to start tracking it.
I think Kim has some good insight with Top Rank and HBO. But anything he says about the other side is often fueled by something other than fact.Comment

Right. The bottom line is that he said he heard less than 3K and that sounds dumb when you have to reconcile that with them giving 9K tickets away. And then you quoted him but now you're trying to do more guesswork for him.Again he is not the only media outlet or promoter with inside knowledge to come out and say a huge percent of the tickets are ending up be given away for free at these PBC events.
