Celebrated? It finished DEAD Last in every category. And to put in perspective UFC on FS1 the smaller sister station to Fox just did 2.288 Million viewers last Sunday night. Smaller sister station on Sunday and it started at 10pm. And that entire card combined paid all the fighters what less then 1mil total. Haymon just paid like 5mil for the purses and STILL has to kick back about 1mil per show to Fox for the time buy. They spending way more money to get LESS ratings. And Steve Kim reported they only sold less then 3000 tickets for the fight. And had to give away the rest for free just to get people to show up. This fight cost PBC a boat load of money and got weak ratings in return.

So they sold 3K and gave away 9,000 tickets.

That's what he reported. And you are shocked? Why? He is not the first media outlet to report that PBC has been forced to give mass amounts of tickets away for free.

Official attendance has nothing to do with tickets sold. that just means that's the total amount of people who said sure I'll go to the fight for free. And again he's not the only media member who said they were giving away free tickets.

The numbers sound good but ofcourse you have the usual anti-haymon people explaining why the numbers should be laughed at and not celebrated. You really have to wonder if these guys are boxing fans ATALL.

god forbid somebody does some research and provides some context to take the fanboys down a peg


2.2 million is a HORRIBLE rating for a major TV network in primetime. for example, the UFC did better on FS1, which i can't even find on my TV dial most of the time. garcia is supposed to be one of haymon's top fighters, too.
