Lol. I've been bashing Conor on this forum for the longest, and if you find my posts I specifically state boxing is a whole different level. And I thought Aldo was going to give Conor work. That doesn't change the context of hype, and I don't like the UFC. Im also on record for that. Nonetheless the UFC is making waves in their own circuit press that Conor is the first in UFC history to attempt two belts simultaneously. Hence moving UP. Now, hiw does that make GGG look when he's on record the last years stating 154-168 is easy work along with Sanchez stating the same, and K2 publicizing they wanted Froch at 168. But then with Ward a 164 catch?! I mean wtf people....

GGG has built up a very small, load and vocal core fanbase. Its about mostly made up of former P@ct@rds. They're what I like to call casual fight fan, but hardcore GGG fans. And yes, they have no interest in seeing him fight Lara.

But I have a feeling that GGG and HBO want more than Gennady to simply become a small cult hero. They have visions of him crossing over and becoming a mainstream star. But before he can crossover, he needs to win the hardcore community first. The Lemieux fight shows that the hardcore community isn't completely sold on, or backing GGG. That's where a guy like Lara comes in. If he goes out and beats Lara convincingly, which no one has. The hardcore community, even his biggest critics, will have no choice but to say this guy is more than an HBO creation. I mean, its not like he has anything better going on in Apr.

Golovkin is the very definition of a manufactured fighter, I have seen all this before..... they admit now, in this very article, that they needed a Ward fight..... problem is they had no confidence in Gennady to beat him.

Golovkin is an outstanding fighter, he is destroying the guys they put in front of him..... but so did Mugabi..... I suspect that Gennady is on a similar level to him, and will likely stick with that assessment until he proves me wrong.

Team Golovkin promised the world, in 154-168..... but have made NO EFFORT WHATSOEVER to live up to that hype..... instead, they have done the exact opposite, and have avoided those type of fights with Ward/Canelo/Cotto.
