I personally like sociopaths in boxing. We all love violence right?.. So why complain about Kovalev? I like it.

not at all. he showed plenty of remorse for the simakov accident, even though it was obviously not his fault. IIRC he did contemplate retirement

he seems like a decent guy in interviews and from reports of fans who've met him; he's just very prideful and doesn't like it when people run their mouths about him

Clearly he's remorseful, and people really need to stop acting like that doesn't bother him. It's really ****ed up how people make things up about that fight because they want to troll NSB or hate on Kovalev.

He was asking the name of Agnew, he couldn't recall it then.
          Thanks for the reminder Beers.

Kovalev responds that Pascal should thank the ref, he saved his life.

At the 2:00 mark he responds to the question if Pascal's last fight take a lot out of him

Kovalev says usually fighters who fight him disappear. He names off Sillah, Caparello, Cleverly, Agnew. When he says Agnew he looks at his manager and said something in Russian while laughing (?) He goes on to say he didn't finish his job in the last Pascal fight because the ref saved Pascal's health (life). Then he goes on to say that Pascal took hard punches the whole fight and the accumulation of punches could have killed Pascal like his fight in 2011 (Simakov).

I love his savagery. I wish all boxers possessed it. It would make for more interesting fights!

This has happened before in boxing, it sadly does occur, at other times fighters sustain life changing injuries or brain damage.

Ordinarily in these situations the other fighter is severely impacted mentally by the tragedy too.

People who know nigel benn know he is deeply wounded by what happened to Gerald Mclellan and it haunts him to this day and will continue to do so. This is usually what happens.

On the other hand you have Sergei Kovalev, a guy who has been involved in a "death fight" who walks around grinning, thinking it highly amusing to talk about opponents dying, or going to the hospital, or being seriously injured by him, with no signs of remorse or any taste whatsoever about what happened.

This is deeply concerning to me that we have a high profile fighter in the sport who is that devoid of compassion. Kovalev, to me is the sort of person who could go Edwin Valero at any moment, and we find out he beat his girlfriend or kids to death or something like that.

At the very least the sanctioning bodies need to start putting some serious consequences on him for the trash statements he keeps coming out with. If he was a british fighter the BBOC would have given him a lengthy ban by now and he'd have been heavily fined as well.

But he just seems to get away with it, the guy is seriously lacking in class
This is the sport for it, this isn't tennis
