I've met a number of very charming and sociable Russians, but they are very often blunt spoken or matter of fact about subjects we might be more used to treating delicately - misery and suffering appear to be national pastimes. In my experience they tend to have a pessimistic outlook and present a tough face to the world but scratch the surface and there's plenty of warmth and compassion.
Is Sergei Kovalev an unstable sociopath?

No,
You tried to say that Nigel Benn couldn't have been wounded by Gman injurys because he was punching him during the fight (illegally or not). Like somehow Benn should have known he was injured.
Why are you so emotional I think you should try watching another sport buddy boxings not for you.Comment

Pretty much this. Kovalev isn't a sociopath, he's just smart and objective enough to know that he's a participant in a very violent sport and sometimes the worst can happen. We're all gonna die someday.
Boxing is a sport where the fighters risk their lives. They are gladiators.
Kovalev already donated money to that fighter's family and said some nice words about him, he's done all that can be expected.
Some things are beyond our control. He's not going to let misfortune come between him and his goals. He has a soldier's mentality. In war, you lose comrades, you lose foes, but you keep fighting in order to win the war.
Kovalev's dream is undisputed light heavyweight champion of the world.
People expect Kovalev to dedicate every fight to his fallen opponent or change his style to a slick, safety first point fighter. I bet some fans would just want him reitre and live with guilt the rest of his life.Comment

Don't see any Valero in Kovalev. Valero just looking at him in the ring he's got the face of a psycho.Comment

Stop being a dramatic crybaby. It's the fight game, deal with it or watch something else. This is deeply concerning to me that we have a high profile fighter in the sport who is that devoid of compassion. Kovalev, to me is the sort of person who could go Edwin Valero at any moment, and we find out he beat his girlfriend or kids to death or something like that.
At the very least the sanctioning bodies need to start putting some serious consequences on him for the trash statements he keeps coming out with. If he was a british fighter the BBOC would have given him a lengthy ban by now and he'd have been heavily fined as well.
But he just seems to get away with it, the guy is seriously lacking in classComment

Yep, **** them. Kovalev's words is not their real issue, Kovalev's success is.Pretty much this. Kovalev isn't a sociopath, he's just smart and objective enough to know that he's a participant in a very violent sport and sometimes the worst can happen.
People expect Kovalev to dedicate every fight to his fallen opponent or change his style to a slick, safety first point fighter. I bet some fans would just want him reitre and live with guilt the rest of his life.
Kovalev's opponents would like nothing better than to render him unconscious, it's the aspiration of every fighter, Sergey's just not trying to hide it when it comes to trash-talkers.Last edited by Weebler I; 01-22-2016, 06:50 AM.Comment
