its easy for us to say that guys are overpaid when most fighters only end up with 20%-30% of their purse

I couldn't care less about what an athlete makes....its not benefitting me or my family......boxing is prizefighting and no matter how much we dislike some of the match ups, these fighters have families to feed like you and I do

How many people will say that they are overpaid for their job or career??? nobody on this site. I don't put my life on the line for my pay check or risk permanent damage each day I go to the office.

Fighters have got crumbs while networks, their promoters, managers, and lawyers got bigger shares of the money....its time fighters get paid better whether they are champs or fringe contenders.

there have been more down and out broke fighters after their career than guys who were well paid and actually got to see a good portion of their purse

Arum has prevented a lot of big fights from happening sooner....they all do...

Everything has pros and cons in the end though, I see a lot of positive and boxing will be able to compete with UFC as far as gaining new fans and viewers
More power to fighters for making the money but as a fan if you can't see that someone making a million to fight a bum 3 times a year won't bother to fight the best for only slightly more then you're missing the point.

GGG can fight 3 top 10 guys a year that have no shot of beating him and make 1.5 million every fight then why would he fight Andre Ward for $3-4 million and risk losing and derailing his career...

If guys were making 400,000 a fight then had a huge fight get offered for 3 million chances are they would take that risk..

Jacobs got 1.5 for Quillen so he'll probably want at least 3 for GGG and most likely more because he knows the risk in fighting GGG. Saunders got offered 3 for the fight and he ran away because he knew he'd get destroyed and be back to square one in his career...

The UFC model is just better.. All the guys under one banner. Fights get made by Dana White and they fight the #1 contender all the time and it makes for great fights... If Haymon could pull that off then I'd be happy but he can't and he hasn't shown that his guys are fighting the toughest competition either yet.

Yeah, here, for example, Haye was on 'Dave' last weekend which is free. You just need a TV.

To watch fights on SKySports ect though, you have to pay a monthly fee for your TV package.

Well, why don't you pay attention to the board and post in threads that are identical to the one that you're about to create, instead of being a little attention whore and creating your own thread about the same topic in which you type in multiple fonts and sizes?

Pbc sucks because it has the potential to be better but refuses to do so. Instead it feeds us 90% garbage. Haymon is familiar with the music industry so you would think he'd understand the concept of coming out with your best material first to get people interested. You don't see new artists releasing album fillers as their singles. They drop their best stuff to get people interested and know that if they're competent enough they will be able to create even better material later. Holding on to fights like Thurman porter is counter productive and despite what you think, is not a good idea as indicated by pbc's terrible numbers.

With 5000 posts you clearly know how to post and use this website so you could of responded in the post you WERE in rather then create a idiotic new thread asking the same question that was answered in the thread you were in. It's about common sense and again save the I have a life comments on a message board especially when you got 5000 posts. And next time watch who you quote and the smack you talk then nobody will embarrass you. Mr Busy man LMAO

To see the majority of the PBC events, all you need to do is make a one time purchase for an antenna in your local Best Buy or Radioshack or order it online. But Garcia vs Guerrero sucks doe, but Wilder doe, Thurman-Porter not that big doe. Yeah, okay, no other person in boxing is doing this. Bringing boxing to over the air tv.

For a fraction of the PBC events, you need to get cable/Showtime, but that's a few fights. The only person in boxing that will allow you to watch two top 10 guys fighting for free is Al Haymon.

we don't pay a monthly fee like we do for HBO and Showtine but You do have to for a cable package to watch ESPN and Spike TV. So it's not really free as it's more like not paying anything extra.

great idea and it would clean up this big mess we call boxing.....wishful thinking but its not gonna happen anytime soon with all the different promoters who can make money with or without an international boxing union

Head2head, there's really no difference between PBC fights in 2015 vs HBO fights. People just set a higher standard for PBC. They'll live with Gonzalez vs Sosa, Golovkin vs Monroe Jr, but on the otherhand bash Garcia vs Guerrero, Thurman vs Collazo. The differencd is a set of those fights were over the air, the others were on premium channel. People like you have issue with these match ups, but will not say anything about the cheap fights HBO puts out for $15/month.
