We get boxing on free TV so whats all the complaints about PBC

I grew up in the 90s when boxing on tv was dyng out and you had to have showtime or hbo to see fights worth anything.


We will never get to see all the fights we want to so.....POLITICS, NETWORKS, ETC so why are people on this forum trashing PBC

I've been watching boxing before I could write a complete sentence and it didn't matter then if it was club fighters or world class fighters on the TV....as long as I get to see some fights every now and then....I fell the same way today......it ****** having to wait for Friday Night Fights which didn't run all year long and SHowtime and Hbo had decent fights once a month...if that

I'm curious as to how Haymon's hedge fund are looking at the brand as a whole and how they see it turning over profits for them to keep dumping money into the product. These are all "purchased" TV slots more so than the Networks giving the brand the TV deals based on total viewership and riding off Nielsen ratings (which in a whole haven't been ground breaking at all).

Why are people acting oblivious to this


If big names like Manny and Mayweather were not signed to HBO and Showtime then we could have fights like these on PBC and the ones you are referring to as the undercard


The only household names in boxing are Mayweather, Cotto, and Pacquaio...all fighters at the end or retired


We are in a changing of the guard time and no one even knows who these guys are besides hard core fans like us


Some of the fighters could have had better opponents but patience is key when building a brand. Its only been a year and we are getting Porter vs Thurman on T.v which would have been on PPV

Garcia vs Guerrero would have been on PPV


A lot of the fights we will be getting for free going forward would've been on PPV and would have happened farther down the line

All of that spin doesn't change the fact that alot of fights involving name fighters are ****ty showcase fights that folks don't like and complain about.

99% of the time you still need HBO or Showtime to see a fight worth anything...
Just because it's free doesn't mean we have to watch garbage fights.. Saturday night is a good, watchable fight and Thurman-Porter is an A+ PBC matchup so it's not all bad...
