Jacobs only has that paper belt where GGG is already the recognized WBA champ. So how do you not understand that K2 went after BJS first?

Unification trumps a mandatory so GGG could have delayed the Tureano Johnson fight by fighting Saunders. Thats not possible by fighting Jacobs (thats no unification, because GGG is already the WBA champ and Jacobs just has that regular belt).

You probably remember how fast Fury got stripped by the very same IBF where Tureano Johnson is the #1 mandatory waiting for his chance at a title fight against GGG.
But what I'm saying is BJS and his team made it VERY CLEAR they wanted no parts of GGG well before these "negotiations" even started. No parts.

I knew that, you knew that, Team Golovkin knew that, BJS knew that. Everyone knew that since day 1. Do I need to bump my posts proving I knew that?

It was a waist of time.

At least with Jacobs you get #1 MW vs #2 MW. I think Jacobs team would gladly accept the offer given to Saunders.

Lara would be a bigger win for GGG than BJS. Hell, Lara would arguably be a bigger for dor Gennady than Canelo. A lotta people felt Lara beat Canelo. Personally, I thought he beat him pretty convincingly.

Look. The 155 thing is bs and Canelo is starting to look less-than-macho to me with his talk of fighting Cotto again or even Pacman (who is still formidable, imo, but is an over-the-hill midget in comparison).

That said, GGG needs a big name.

          Bad.

The years are passing and what's his best win?

The plan was never for BJS to get in the ring with GGG in the first place because he and his team have made that quite clear from the beginning that's not what they want. What we have is at least one month of waisted negotiations.

BJS has clearly said that he'd need at least 18 months before he's ready for a fight with GG and that he was essentially scared of him. Why even waist your time trying to negotiate with BJS when you have someone like Jacobs who is more of a threat and is only asking for fair money. I'm sure he'll take the same offer given to Saunders in a heartbeat.

THe way things are looking is the Canelo-GG showdown will be a letdown this fall as well due to the weight issues.

Loefler says he's neutral with PBC/Haymon, but just needs to talk to HBO. Well, why not get the talking?

#1 MW vs #2 MW, I'm all for it until I hear otherwisre from Team GGG and Team Jacobs. So far, I've heard Team Jacobs stance on what their requests are but nothing from Loefler and Golovkin.

Team Jacobs asks for a 50/50 split, but given their fight with Quillin didn't do so well, I can see a 60-40 split in favor of Golovkin because his fight with DL had more butts in seats. Other than that, everything should be at least negotiated. But Golovkin and Co. act like Jacobs doesn't exist.
Excellent post. Its time for GGG to concentrate on beating the best fighters that are willing to fight him. Instead of chasing and trying to glorify paper trinket holders.

So he's gonna' prove his ATGness with a KO of Lemieux?

                  I don't think it's gonna' be enough.

When It's Time To Fight, Guys Are Hesitant To Climb In With Ggg

We'll see if in fact Canelo mans up to fight GGG in the Fall at 160 or will he make ridiculous demands to defend a 160lb belt at 155, afraid to fight at 160. Saunders said he had no problem fighting GGG should he beat Lee, now after being offered $3M, his biggest ever payday, he balks and says not interested. He knows he's one and done once he climbs in with Gennady, so go make safer Paydays/Fights for a while leveraging your one belt. Typical weasel. So now GGG will find some tomato can to stay busy with, and some will rail his quality opponent.
