Without the backing of a promoter, Jr won't have many fights to choose. If Saunders refuses to fight him, what has he left, this one and after that Jacobs in USA?

As of now, being mandatory for Jacobs' title is the only reason his promotional situation isn't too bad. He'll get that fight regardless of promoter.

Outside of that though, it is limited. Unless he signs with Al Haymon which would open some different doors.

Although, my understanding is that they are still open to working with the Hearns again. They just won't accept being treated poorly, similar to Frampton.

Eubank Jr already turned that rematch down this past Summer.
He didn't want to drop his WBA interim belt for a WBO title eliminator.
Eubank Jr is still somehow in the WBA line despite being stripped of that interim belt and now he wants to fight for the British title instead of fighting Jacobs.
After all that big talk, Jr jacked it in

I think the Eubanks are overestimating Jr at the moment. He is a top 10-15MW, but he isn't such a big draw yet. He got a good payday against O'Sullivan, and they should have checked the different options rather than rushing. Maybe they could have done a fight with Martin Murray.

I wonder how much he got for fighting Jeter and O'Sullivan. As far as I know, he will get less than 100.000 pounds to fight against Blackwell.

That is not correct (and you know it).

Saunders had SIGNED the contract for the re-match, Eubank Jnr pulled out.

Eubank had a Mandatory shot for Jacobs, but decided the UK belt was more important?

Either way, Eubank Jnr has (in effect) ducked Saunders AND Jacobs.

Eubank wants the British title before heading to world level. Once you're operating at world level, you can't jump back for the British. Once he gets the British he'll cash in on his mandatory world title shot.

The original talks broke down over money split. This time Saunders is flat out saying no, 'beat Golovkin then we'll rematch' - that's a direct quote.

I think they are overestimating his drawing power, absolutely. He has the potential to be a star, but he's not there yet.

As a fighter though, I think he's improved immensely in the last 18 months. He's got more serious, more varied and fights smarter...still improvements to be made, but I already think he's a top 5 MW. He has the attributes to be a great fighter, it's just putting it all together.

Did he not sign with Haymon? He was rumored to have signed with him back in September.
