this seems like the mindset of a lot of fighters. if they can make the same amount of money for a low risk fight, why not take it? i think they are banking of people paying to see a fighter as the selling point and fight itself is secondary.Comment

The PBC networks already took the hedge fund money. They have no input when it comes to matchups. For the last few years, Showtime hasn't had much input either as Haymon has had complete control over the matchmaking. Maybe that will finally change in 2016 if Ezpinoza gets his head out of his ass. HBO can certainly take some blame about some mismatches though.Comment

I could understand if he said that about Danny, because that's his son and it makes sense for him to be protective and worry about his health first. If I had a son who boxed, I would want him to take low risk, high reward fights, the fans would hate me. I wouldn't even my kid to fight to be honest.
But what Angel is saying is that he's shocked that two other top fighters wanna fight each other to enhance their legacy and name value and give a good show for the fans, when they can just fight some nobody and still get paid. I cannot respect that.Comment
