What I said is a 90/10 will not fly, obviously. For a regular WBC Champion vs mandatory it's a 70/30 split. For other circumstances it can be 60/40 or even up to 50/50 for unifications, etc.

My point is that when Oscar/K2 are working out a deal, it sure as hell won't be 90/10 since K2 can simply fall back on the purse bid, which then of course means it's beneficial to both sides to make a deal and avoid a purse bid altogether. Understand?

Its not about it being fair to GGG, its about Canelo not having the pull he thinks he does. I agree Canelo is more popular so him getting a bigger cut is more than reasonable if that's what it takes but as far as 10%, GGG would be a fool if he took that and same as the proposed catch weight of 155lbs.

GGG is the mandatory to Canelo's title so he is entitled to more than 10% and has no need to agree to a catch weight for a title he is a mandatory challenger to. Lets say Canelo doesn't make the fight with him and drops the belt over his demands, to me that makes Canelo look bad not GGG.

If that happened GGG picks up his WBC belt and more than likely will stay at middleweight to go for the others as well, then where does that leave Canelo? Right now he's stuck between 154 and 160 and sooner than later will have to go to 160 where GGG is waiting. By that time for Canelo to have any real success at 160 he'll be the one that needs GGG.

What was the point of that rant? What makes you think I'd cry about Canelo winning a decision at 160? If he fights GGG at 160 and wins, good for him, he's better than he gets credit for but at 155 he's opening himself up for criticism and for people to discredit his win. It's a simple concept and if Canelo is in another class from GGG then why cry about a catch weight to try to weaken him? Maybe Canelo's not as confident in his abilities as you are.

Show me one link that states Cotto's purse on fight night excluded Roc Nation bonus money? Golden Boy said they offered Cotto 10 mil guarantee for the fight numerous times and when the Cotto camp leaked how much he was taking home Golden Boy spoke specifically stating that the split being reported is not that wide and whatever additional money Roc Nation pays Cotto through bonuses and guarantee money they owe him is on them and has nothing to do with Golden Boy or the Contract they signed for this fight. Meaning the fighters signed a contract for a split that was slightly in Cotto's favor. So it works like this there is a large amount of money for both camps Golden Boy and Roc Nation based on that split. Out of that they pay their fighters. Roc Nation gave Cotto a dumb contract that calls for them to take money out their own pocket to pay Cotto. Numerous websites have reported that because how much they signed Cotto to and all the bonus money that they have operated at a loss with Cotto. Listen they overpaid for Cotto to get their foot in the door with boxing taking less of a commission/percent to promote him. Part of that is reflected in the purse Cotto got fight night.

And the money both fighters were guaranteed on fight night is only part of the money they will get paid in total. Manny got double the amount he was guaranteed on fight night to fight Oscar. This is how PPV works if it's successful which Canelo/Cotto was you gonna get paid much more and the total amount takes months to tally up. If it bombs like GGG did you will not. His popularity has risen from that win and he will NOW FIGHT on Mexican Holidays which boost your PPVs and why Floyd chose to fight those dates. Plus they have time to build up this fight with GGG that fight is going to do 1mil PPVs min when it happens. You keep quoting Canelo's PPVs years ago when he was fighting on Showtime NOT HBO! If you can't see the difference in how HBO is pushing and promoting Canelo compared to how he had to take a back seat in Showtime then you are a bigger idiot. No I said Canelo vs GGG will actually do more. Because it will be on a mexican holiday and they will have an entire year or more to promote this fight. And most importantly Canelo's fanbase has increased. And yeah Canelo's purse is going up after he just had a massive successful year where he has either won Fighter of the year or is the runner up to fighter of year by Ring Magazine, ESPN, and all other major outlets. He just won a huge PPV event against a first ballot Hall of famer and won the Lineal Middleweight championship. Yup stuff like this doesn't boost a fighters draw power let's just be an idiot and ignore all that and act like he will still make the same amount of money going forward.
