Cotto is a battered small slow fighter who has taken some serious beatings over a long career and now is at the end of that career a rich man who talks slow and should get out before further brain damage is done. Actually his family particularly his wife has been begging him to call it a career year's ago but it's Cotto that has been the greedy one hence the signing with Roc Nation. By the way, you were on point with everything else in your post.

Cotto would be the best payday for Canelo but it would be smarter to fight a true Middleweight to better prepare himself for triple gay.

Cotto himself said he didn't want it again. He knows a rematch goes the same way or worse for him. He is too old and doesn't have the power to beat Canelo.
Could Canelo KO him? Its possible. I think he would have less respect for Cotto's power and really get after him. Cotto would be on that bicycle earlier than in the first fight.

That's right. Riding their bicycles most of the fight is what saved Cotto, Lara and Mayweather Jr. from getting KO'd by Canelo, or at least knocked down a couple of times. Kirkland, who is very strong, way stronger tan any of the other three mentioned, tried to engage Canelo fearlessly and we know what happened to him.
