Comments Thread For: Barrera's Manager Feels Andre Ward Being Caught at Right Time

The team behind Sullivan Barrera believe they are catching Andre Ward at the right time.

According to Luis Molina, the manager of Barrera, a deal is practically wrapped up to face Ward (28-0, 15 KOs) on March 26 in Oakland, as the main event of an HBO card.

Well, Barerra's manager has a point. Ward is moving up against a decent opponent and has only fought three times in as many years. I wouldn't go betting against SOG, but you never know.

I like their observations and attitude. This fight should be next for Ward.

I can't think of anyone that Ward's fought who's similar to Barrera? He had the Euro's; Kessler, Froch, Abraham, then Bika, and some so-so fighters in Rodriguez, Green, and Miranda. Dawson was weight drained & concussed for their fight. Should give us a new look at Andre regardless on his inactivity and weight increase.

JCPenny must be negotiating on Ward's behalf and not keeping him updated.

The fight is guaranteed. They are just trading words on Twitter to build interest in the fight. And honestly, it's working. That Ward-Barrera thread is at 25 pages. Boxing Scene is treating this fight with a lot of respect, so job well done by Ward and Barrera.

This fight seems to be a done deal in spite of the twitter posturing.

                  I'm looking forward to it.
