      True.

Fighters are not the same as everyone, they are crazy.
Fighters have always been woman beaters and womanizers, not saying it is right, but fighters are going to fight.
I met a guy once that said his brother used to date Layla Ali, they would fight all the time, Ali would win, the guy was a heavyweight boxer. Every time they had a fight, she would tell him to take it outside.
So can't always blame the guy, fighters could also have brain damage that could make them be crazy.
My favorite fighter is a convicted rapist, I don't think he ****d that girl, but even if he did, I would still watch his fights. He served 3 years in prison, so he paid the price for what he did (if he did).

As a boxer absolutely. As a person, no. He was violent and did some terrible ****. But, a hell of a lot more fighters are like that than people care to admit here. It's often what makes some of them great fighters.

He was an incredible fighter though. Truly one of the greatest and should be remembered as the greatest middleweight ever in my opinion. Arguably an unequaled championship record at 160 and one of the very few greats to retire as champ on top. He retired at the perfect time.

This probably why he isn't as popular now as he could've been.

Dude, he's basically a smaller, black version of Wlad. Haven't you seen all those fights of his that are just clinch, jab, clinch, clinch, jab? Let's face it, that's all he does really.

Just look at all his fights at 130, 135 and 140. Every one is a clinic of clinches. Then he gets to 147 and really starts to go clinch crazy. His offence and defence consist of leaping in and just grabbing, hugging and clinching. Hardly ever throws any variety of punches, and the only reason he does throw an occasional jab is to set up a vicious clinch to the body.

He's truly the master of the modern clinch game.

              Seriously.

This is clinching/holding is one of the most annoying aspects in boxing, because it prevents the actual skill in boxing from taking place or keeps it from being showcased to the public.

I'am talking when the fighter is technically in a clinch, but practically he's just holding the guy.

Nothing he did will ever taint his accomplishments in the ring. You have to respect him for this. Outside the ring...well two things people need to remember:

                    1. He didn't kill his wife in cold blood
                    2. He served his time in jail

He's not evil. Just a bit naughty.

It is interesting though that when you ask the guys that keep repeating this 'clinch' business that Floyd is supposed to do so much, which fights he does it in, they never really haver a good answer.

Maidana 2 is really the only fight of his in which I remember he used it more than usual. Other than that, people moan about the Pac fight, but he didn't use it much there, and there's really no others. He just doesnt clinch much and people keep repeating it because they just assume he does.
