Does anybody remember which fight it is early in Ward's career where he's winning so easily that he turns to the ref and implores him to stop the fight?

And what do you care if you get another fight in between Kovalev when he has already agreed with HBO to fight Kovalev? If he doesn't fight then you say he's inactive and "Does Ward even fight anymore?".

He said before the fight that he wants 3 fights this year, the 3rd one being Kovalev.
Why shouldn't I care if it is an unnecessary wait? Ward isn't some green up and comer, he is a seasoned fighter, and his inactivity is his own fault. No excuses.

You don't understand, there is no "wait", the fight has always been scheduled for the end of 2016 since it was offered by HBO in negotiations to sign Ward. What either fighter does or does not do before that is not waiting.

If scheduled = signed contract, then I wasn't aware. Otherwise, what's projected schedule wise doesn't hold much weight, there are so many variables that can come between a fight being scheduled, and the fight actually happening, you know that.

I am an optimistic person, and I believe the fight will indeed happen, but to me this is pure posturing, and cowardice. If you even half believe you are not only the best in the world but the best in the division of an undefeated feared killer, and you already had a tune up fight after a layoff, you should be able to jump right into the lions den - or you don't believe your own words, and your fans are writing checks with their mouths and heart that Ward can't cash in the ring. But it can't be both.

There should be pressure here, there should be questions, until the fight has been confirmed, because any other move for both of them doesn't make sense; financial sense, nor strategically.

Some of the most ridiculous and ****** logic I've read here. That's saying something.

If Ward has another tune up fight before his upcoming fight with Kovalev he's a coward? Sheer ******ity.

But how is it posturing or cowardice, when even Kovalev and Duva have already said it will happen at the end of 2016, since before all this. It has always been that Ward will take 2 fights and fight Kovalev at the end of 2016. Kovalev already said November sounds good, Duva said the same. So how is it posturing or cowardice? The fight has been nearly set in stone since Ward signed on.

What I notice you are doing is that you want the world to stop turning for your entertainment, you want the fight next Saturday for whatever reason, when all parties have agreed on Q4 2016. It sounds like you want things YOUR way, no matter how unreasonable. This is the best match up that can be made in 2016 and it's being made. You fans can never be satisfied with anything. If a fight does not happen at all, it's bad, if a fight is going to happen a certain year but not a date that YOU want it in, it's bad. Boxing fans are terrible, especially when it's a fanboy trying to get an advantage for the fighter he favors and trying to smear another's name in the process.

It's the fact that this has already been said since he signed the HBO contract, that he will fight twice before fighting Kovalev at the end of the year. It's always been that way, but now it's an issue.

It sounds like hardheadedness. Not ******ity. He knows he is wrong, just wants to continue with the coward parade because it's the popular thing to say about a fighter.
