He's a guy with failed drug tests (for *******), he's had more than one DUI and he crashed into someone while drunk...and fled the scene. I love him as a fighter, but as a person he's hardly one to aspire to.

Aldo was medically cleared to fight first time around, he made the decision himself to pull out. There was nothing wrong with him. Btw, Mendez was world class and Poirier is high level....Poirier (a guy who had never been stopped) got knocked out in 2 minutes.

It's fairly obvious why the more exciting, better speaking, cleaner living guy is more liked.

He was criticse for wanting better random testing in camp lol. Still can't believe that, i remember saying in 10 years time it would be the norm, it isnt even 10 years and most top boxers use it already.

Yeah... but he always forced via contract the testing to start only after the fight was announced publicly even though the fighters were already training (specially him).
He also took an IV which is illegal in all serious anti doping agency.
He also always payed USADA for mediocre testing instead of paying less money to VADA for much better testing.
