Jan.30 - Kovalev vs. Pascal 2. Kovalev pretty much destroyed him in the first fight, I don't expect this fight to be any different especially after the way Pascal looked against Gonzalez.

Feb. 27 - Crawford vs. Lundy, with a co-feature of Verdejo vs. Silva. Lundy loses every time he steps up. This guy lost to Dulorme ffs. Verdejo vs. Silva is another tune up fight. When will he step up? Doesn't look it'll be this year but he's getting a co-feature spot on HBO.

March. 5 - Roman Gonzalez/ Gio Segura. Hasn't been made official yet (lets hope it's not official). Segura has taken several bad beatings in recent years to point where boxing might put him at serious risk. It doesn't help that he got beaten up by 3 guys that Gonzalez already beat.

March - Sadam Ali vs. Jessie Vargas - Decent fight, more of a co-feature. But will it be for a title? No one knows if WBO will strip Bradley.

April 9 - Pac vs. Bradley 3 - The fight no one wants to see. To add insult to injury it's on PPV. (I hope it bombs).

April 23. GGG vs. Johnson - Johnson will get beaten up and TKOed. Bad mismatch. Although if they somehow make Saunders vs. GGG, that will be a bit better.

May. 7th- Canelo vs. Rosado/Monroe. Who wants to watch either opponent?

Apart from a decent scrap between Ali and Vargas, these are showcase fights and mismatches.

I think its looking fairly similar to 2015 tbh. They saved the day late last year with several big fights & that could be in the cards this year to with Canelo vs GGG, Kovalev vs Ward & Crawford vs Postol potentially on the table in the 2nd half of the year. Probably even some chance Fury vs Ortiz could pop off on HBO later in the year. Gonzalez vs Estrada II seems possible. And lets not forget that it seems like there is some level of attempt being put into making Kovalev vs Stevenson in June. So there is some notable fights that could brighten up the year.

Or maybe Haymon just signed the HBO roster to a adviser deal & all the PBC haters are gonna quit watching boxing now.

Yeah. I guess you can look at each year as a new boxing season. They build fights later in the year with showcase fights during the first half of the year.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Thurman/Porter marinate a little longer too.

Peter Nelson has to know that schedule is straight up pathetic.
Zero intrigue, zero drama. Chalk it up to the cold war.

He's banking on the name value and not on the fights.

He's hoping fans see names like Kovalev, Canelo, GGG, Pacquiao, Crawford, Chocalatito and get excited and watch their fights regardless of their pathetic opposition. As long as casuals tune in and those ratings remain high, they'll keep putting this **** out.

There is not one competitive fight in the first 6 months apart from Sadam Ali vs. Jessie Vargas. Is anyone clamoring for that fight? probably not.

Ratings will be high. Casuals have been programmed to watch HBO fights even if they dont know who they are.

HBO caters to the dumb boxing fan this site proves that.

I thought Kovalev vs Pascal was competitive and highly entertaining. Although for a rematch I would imagine Pascal doing worse. Johnson vs GGG is probably more competitive than GGG vs BJS, as I think BJS would get absolutely destroyed whereas Johnson is a tough guy who comes to fight with an entertaining style. I think he'll be somewhat competitive but will be stopped late. Pac vs Bradley III I'm sure will be very competitive, being that Pac has declined and Bradley is feeling pretty good about himself right now, but with that said I have NO interest at all. It really is a week start, again. Hopefully the undercard fights at least are stepped up. It's not always about the main events it's about the cards (sometimes). Here's to hoping for a great second half of the year.

Seems ****** to expect more from a network that's been consistently shrinking its budget, with few fighters left, and focusing more on Game of Thrones blockbuster types. Even then they're still able to kick PBC's ass.

I don't have HBO subscription. My brother does, not because of boxing. That's where I get my HBO boxing fix from. I won't lose sleep if HBO boxing disappears. I hope it happens so we can focus on PBC and don't have to have these silly comparisons. Let's see if PBC delivers.
