HBO 2016 Boxing Schedule is not looking good....

It's going to be a pretty miserable start to 2016 for HBO... Here's what's on the schedule

Jan.30 - Kovalev vs. Pascal 2. Kovalev pretty much destroyed him in the first fight, I don't expect this fight to be any different especially after the way Pascal looked against Gonzalez.

Feb. 27 - Crawford vs. Lundy, with a co-feature of Verdejo vs. Silva. Lundy loses every time he steps up. This guy lost to Dulorme ffs. Verdejo vs. Silva is another tune up fight. When will he step up? Doesn't look it'll be this year but he's getting a co-feature spot on HBO.

March. 5 - Roman Gonzalez/ Gio Segura. Hasn't been made official yet (lets hope it's not official). Segura has taken several bad beatings in recent years to point where boxing might put him at serious risk. It doesn't help that he got beaten up by 3 guys that Gonzalez already beat.

March - Sadam Ali vs. Jessie Vargas - Decent fight, more of a co-feature. But will it be for a title? No one knows if WBO will strip Bradley.

April 9 - Pac vs. Bradley 3 - The fight no one wants to see. To add insult to injury it's on PPV. (I hope it bombs).

April 23. GGG vs. Johnson - Johnson will get beaten up and TKOed. Bad mismatch. Although if they somehow make Saunders vs. GGG, that will be a bit better.

May. 7th- Canelo vs. Rosado/Monroe. Who wants to watch either opponent?

Apart from a decent scrap between Ali and Vargas, these are showcase fights and mismatches.

March 26: Andre Ward vs. Sullivan Barrera has been rumored. I guess that's one I am looking forward to.

But yeah this isn't going to be a good year for boxing. One Canelo vs. GGG isn't enough to accept 11 months of BS.

It's not just HBO. Look PBC and UK boxing. 90% showcase fights. Boxing ****** in 2015 and is flirting with another suck year.

Is that a done deal, or is it going to be Periban?

Still working on it. An article came out a couple of days ago where Duva confirmed that they are working on a deal.

I really hope GGG can get Jacobs instead. Canelo is going for an easy fight in May and a tougher one in November I'm guessing. Marinating might be necessary but it sure does punish the fans, who clearly don't deserve that. Oh well. Maybe they will fight before the decade is over with.

2015 shaping up to be better than 2016 already but 2013 still takes it by just a little.
I doubt Ward fights Barrera, maybe in his 2nd fight before the Kov fight in the fall if all goes well.
Showtime needs to sign some Cruiserweights to deals, them guys made some really good fights last year and most of the division is filled with punchers.
