Boxing fans are weird. You got one fighter, GGG, agreeing not to fight Cotto and Canelo even though he's the mando, and people say he's being ducked. You got guys flat out saying no to Crawford but he isn't being ducked?

And given Top Rank's history with marinating, I don't know how anyone can be optimistic that all these fights will take place.
Definitely with you on Postol being the guy to beat @ 140.

And I can't fault TR too hard for marinating any particular fight. Seems like marinating is the boxing business model these days. Hell even the normally aggressive matchmaker, Golden Boy, has decided marinating is somehow the move to make for GGG vs Canelo even doe GGG has been in line to fight Sergio, Miguel & now Canelo for 2 years or whatever at this point.

And these guys don't even have more lucrative options available. Like with GGG, Cotto and Canelo had each other, Martinez had Cotto, Geale had a fight at home with Mundine, Sturm sells at home no matter who against, etc.

These guys could all use a signature win to take their careers to the next level and they flat out declined. Fighters are getting more and more honest these days about saying NO.

Crawford needs to move up to 147 and chase a Bradley fight. He's way too big for 140 anyway.

Don't forget TC declined Postol a few months back. Postol has a KO over Matthysse. He's doing fine. Crawford is unfortunately the odd man out right now as a lot of the top 140 guys have fought each other and have better resumes. None of them are going to fight TC in Feb coming off the holidays.

TC will get his, he's very very good but unfortunately selling out in Nebraska isnt exactly wowing guys who have been in much bigger fights already in Vegas, etc.

from the posted quotes, it sounds like postol is willing to fight if the offer is legit.

not sure what he means by that, but i'm not going to call it a duck if he's only asking for reasonable premium TV money. the guy just knocked out lucas matthysse, one of the better 140 lbers of the last several years. he shouldn't take peanuts.

now, if he wants ppv money, he's crazy

i think the reality even tho haymon gets all the blame is arum is unwilling to work with the other side. look how he destroyed a broner possibility with manny undermining the negotiations. even with his cold war is over pr tour how often does he work with oscar? the reality is arum is still the main culprit of fights not happening

One of the most intriguing divisions in boxing is 140. You have Terence Crawford of course, Viktor Postol, Mauricio Herrera (who is still the measuring stick for a lot of you guys), Jose Benevidez, Adrien Broner, Ruslan Providnikov and a promising prospect in Antonio Orozco.

The problem? Nobody wants to fight Terence Crawford to bring closure to this division:

                  Mauricio Herrera - No

                  Viktor Postol - No

                  Ruslan Provodnikov - No

So it's looking like it will be TBA (I heard Hank Lundy is now the front runner). First off, I had no clue that Crawford was this avoided so I need to backtrack on statements I made criticizing him for a subpar 2015. TC can pack the house in his home town and he comes to fight. Why won't these guys step up and fight him in February?

You should of done this with GGG also. It's pretty obvious on why you didn't.

Herrera and Provodnikov are suited for each other.

As for Postol, Crawford wants none of him either, so what's the problem? Have you heard Crawford mentioning Postol? No.
