Does anyone think its plausible HBO will risk a HBO PPV between Kov & Ward for a HBO PPV with Kov vs Stevenson? Seems like you enhance both Kov & Ward by them just being in a PPV fight together as undefeated P4P caliber guys regardless who wins or loses. And you risk that by throwing Kov in with Stevenson first (well I think Kov wins, Stevenson gots power enough to put Kov to sleep if the opportunity presents itself). Seems like you wanna make Stevenson vs Kov if its makeable, but no hurry, can easily line it up for 2017 after Ward vs Kov.
Duva "working on a deal for barrera and ward"

that would be placing a lot of faith in ward keeping his word. i don't think anyone should treat that fight as a given until a date and venue are set. main events should just focus on securing the best possible opponent at each step of the way, which stevenson would be in the summer. duva and kovalev don't seem all that afraid of stevenson and would make themselves a shoo-in for FOTY 2016 if they collected both his and ward's scalps within months of each other
Sergey Kovalev’s promoter said unbeaten former super-middleweight champion Andre Ward has signed two agreements to fight the unbeaten Kovalev in the second half of 2016.
Yea definitely agree its a bold move for Kov to fight Stevenson & Ward in the same year & I got lil doubt he'd wanna do that, I just think HBO might not wanna risk the Ward fight on the Stevenson fight due to their vested interest in Ward vs Stevenson is what I'm saying.Comment

Looks like the dyke is finally going to do some ting right
At light-heavyweight, Andre Ward is currently locked in talks to face Sullivan Barrera as the ex-super middleweight king gears up for a world title shot against Sergey Kovalev at the end of 2016.
The ‘S.O.G’ is due to return to the ring in March after signing with Roc Nation last year and Barrera’s promoter Kathy Duva has confirmed she is ‘working on’ a deal with Ward’s team to put the fight together.
Finally, WBA welterweight champion Keith 'One Time' Thurman looks nailed on to defend his belt against compatriot 'Showtime' Shawn Porter in the coming months following weeks of talks between the Premier Boxing Champions pair.
Porter’s father and trainer Kenny informed WBN that a date, venue and terms are all still to be worked out, although both sides are very interested in securing the high-profile bout - which would see two P4P ranked fighters square off.
Now that Floyd Mayweather Jr is seemingly out of the picture for good, Thurman or Porter can push themselves to the forefront of the division with victory in what looks to be a mouth-watering 147 pound contest on paper.Comment

Ward has to be careful here...Main Events is known for protecting their top assets...Stevenson is backed by a powerful "adviser", so the likelihood of any funny business with the judging is small. Unless it's in Al's favor.
But Ward is backed by the less powerful (in the boxing world at least) Jay Z. Pascal is at a disadvantage too. If Ward takes the fight, he has to know that his best option is a KO. I just dont think Jay Z is as "connected" as Main Events is.Comment

He recognises the inevitability and seems very open to the fight happening. He is contracted to fight Kovalev, there is no reason to believe he won't.
I think a shortage of money to fund it could upset those plans. Neither Kovalev nor Ward have big fan bases right now, and Andre is doing nothing, so far, to try and increase his appeal and marketability.Comment
