Rigo, took away his tools, controlled the range, and won virtually every exchange in that fight. He was never in danger, not even when he got knocked down. And like I said, he got knocked down when he was in a clinch, that's different than getting timed and clocked, like Darchyinan did for example.
And Rigo got up immediately, retaliated, basically said "Is that all you got?"
donaire made a very professional move by keeping his hands free and pivoting. it was a nice punch, and definitely not something you get used to seeing in the amateurs.
after the knockdown rigondeaux, arguably the most accurate punchers not named floyd mayweather of the last 10 years, missed donaire by a huge margin. it was a strange look. he also looked to me to be a bit surprised by the reaction of his legs in the immediate aftermath of the punch.
you have to look at the fight as we did when it was contemporary if you want to really guage how "exciting" it felt at the time, which is the heart of the discussion
. prior to the donaire fight rigondeaux had never performed like an elite over 12 rounds. he had been hurt and made to change his gameplan in the past. in the cordoba fight, for example, he fell apart after getting into the late rounds and caught. it was reasonable to feel an increased measure of excitment because of rigondeaux's recent history. you also have to consider doanire's recent history. he was the hardest puncher i ever saw at 118, and this was only 4 lbs north against a smaller opponent. in 2012 he was the fighter of the year, and he was a pound for pounder. he was favored to win. i picked him to win via knockout. that also adds to the level of excitement at the time of the knockdown.
i still think rigondeaux looks like a chinny and vulnerable fighter at times. that's one of the few silver linings of a rigondeaux fight.

Personally, I gotta go with Wlad-Fury

Most Rigo fights. Most Floyd fights. Most Wlad fights.
Rigo had like 1 entertaining fight after HBO dropped him. Jr. never fights fun despite controlling the fights. Wlad enjoys leaning on his opponents the second the bell rings. Yet despite the latter 2 being boring as ***, they get huge draws. Sometimes looks/talking makes up for everything you don't got.

Another boring match recently ..Bradley vs Alexander
I didn't watch Bradley-Alexander, and now I'm glad I didn't.
The most boring recent fight I've seen is Rigondeaux-Francisco. The only excitement I felt was the anger brewing within me as I witnessed Rigo's blatant lack of respect for the sport, its fans and himself. Otherwise, I would've easily fallen asleep.
