He's His Own Man
Andre Ward is and has always been his own man. He does things that aren't very traditional. He beats to his own drum and it's gotten him extremely far.
He's won a gold medal (The Last American which is unbelieveable) won multiple championships, and I believe was the unified champion of the division. He entered the Super Six tournament and destroyed the competition. Which most experts thought he wasn't quite ready for and proved them wrong.
Did he make a poor decision and hurt himself with the whole lawsuit and inactivity in the ring? Yes. But he's still young enough and has more than enough to time to make up for it in 2016 and remind everyone that he is the best on the planet.
Jay Z, Roc Nation, and HBO are investing heavily in Andre Ward and it wouldn't surprise me at all if he is getting paid more than most fighters out their per fight basis.
Look for a guy too have been so inactive for the last few years and is still considered a Top 5 fighter shows how much respect that people have for him still to this day. You don't get that in other sports but Andre Ward is a different beast and he's coming back with a vengeance in 2016.

So you say Ward is the best pound for pound fighter, but then you say he is being positioned to lose???? Huh? Where have you gone James Toney? Where have the days gone of real fighters wanting to fight the best & stopping at nothing until they got the chance to fight the biggest "threats".
