  • Comments Thread For: Adrien Broner Wishes Andre Ward Would Have Went Haymon

WBA junior welterweight champion Adrien Broner wishes unbeaten Olympic gold medal winner Andre Ward (28-0, 15KOs) would have signed on with powerful manager/adviser Al Haymon.

Broner, and close friend Floyd Mayweather Jr., are not happy with the way Ward is being positioned among the best pound for pound fighters in the sport. They also believe Ward's career would have received a significant boost with Haymon on his team.

Ward is with J. Prince. Floyd used to be with J. Prince. He's not a bad manager. He's done very well for Ward and Bryant Jennings. J. He's managed a couple other fighters too. Aint nobody gon **** over J. Prince. He the one who Arum had to pay off to get Floyd out of his managerial contract. If you don't know who J. Prince is look him up.

I've wondered why he didn't. Kovalev is a great fight, but Stevenson would have been too. And if he wanted to stay at 168, there would have been the Dirrell brothers, DeGale, Jack, etc.

But it is what it is. Ward-Kovalev is good enough.

Yeah well not everyone is focused on avoiding fighters in their prime the way Mayweather did and Broner needs to start doing.

I feel like Ward is one of those guys that just likes to ride his own wave and not follow anyone elses path.
