i brought up floyd because i was making a comparison and who better to use then the guy that was the most popular boxer over the last ten years? everyone remembers how he avoided the #1 guy in the division and fought lesser guys for less money. now you have some of these same people who defended him saying ggg is ducking guys. they even said he was ducking sergio mora simply because they wanted to see that fight. mora wasn't ranked or relevant at all but because ggg wouldn't fight him he was ducking mora. now he's ducking jacobs a guy he will be mandated to fight soon? please. i just wish these same people had super high ducking standards in the floyd days but what a coincidence they didn't. i'm just pointing out their hypocrisy. it has nothing to do with floyd. it has to do with hypocrisy.Comment

Yeah I agree, still Jacobs would be a substantial underdog. You don't want Ggg testing a suspect chinI think Jacobs would be the most dangerous fighter GGG has faced to date.
Lemiuex has similar power to Jacobs, but his delivery isn't even close to being as efficient as Jacobs. Lemieux is very robotic and lacks the ability to box. He had T-Rex arms and was very short on all his punches. Whereas someone like Jacobs combines speed and power in his delivery while having close to a 90% KO ratio. He offers intangibles that GGG hasn't seen yet.
In my eyes, Jacobs is the most dangerous opponent to GGG.Comment

Sure, you are correct when you say certain people have favoritism standards. I agree, some posters did have double standards for Mayweather. I think what it comes down to is some guys don't want their favorite fighter to lose so they come up with excuses for why "their guy" shouldn't fight the other guy.i brought up floyd because i was making a comparison and who better to use then the guy that was the most popular boxer over the last ten years? everyone remembers how he avoided the #1 guy in the division and fought lesser guys for less money. now you have some of these same people who defended him saying ggg is ducking guys. they even said he was ducking sergio mora simply because they wanted to see that fight. mora wasn't ranked or relevant at all but because ggg wouldn't fight him he was ducking mora. now he's ducking jacobs a guy he will be mandated to fight soon? please. i just wish these same people had super high ducking standards in the floyd days but what a coincidence they didn't. i'm just pointing out their hypocrisy. it has nothing to do with floyd. it has to do with hypocrisy.
They did it.
But, if we're being fair, you do the same thing as well and you also have your favorites and have your matchups you would prefer over the more dangerous ones.
But this talk about GGG being the most feared fighter can go both ways. The same reasons guys were using NOT to fight GGG are the same reasons GGG has used NOT to fight other guys.Comment

Well, by those standards, no matter who GGG faces will run the risk of being stopped. The man has 20 consecutive KO's. I'd take someone with a supposed questionable chin that also has fire power over someone with a granite chin that offensively offers no game changer and zero resistance to the inevitable KO.
Out of all those KO's by GGG, no one, not one person, offered the chance of also KO'ing GGG in return.
The only one that potentially did was Lemieux. And to GGG's credit, he actually gave Lemiuex a boxing lesson and wasn't as agressive as he was with someone like Willie Monroe Jr.
The problem with Jacobs is he's not going to outbox Jacobs and if he aggressively fights and stalks Jacobs like he did Monroe, Stevens, Rosado, etc, he also runs the risk of being KO'd himself. This possibility has never been evident in any of GGG's recent fights.
This possibility intrigues me as a fan of the sport.Last edited by Chollo Vista; 01-01-2016, 10:10 PM.Comment

Although I disagree, you may be right. But your "prediction" of a fight's outcome should hold no weight in whether that fight materializes or not because God forbid you've ever made an incorrect prediction.Last edited by Chollo Vista; 01-01-2016, 10:09 PM.Comment

Pretty sure he can outbox Jacobs, unless you mean outspeed. Either way hope it goes down soonWell, by those standards, no matter who GGG faces will run the risk of being stopped. The man has 20 consecutive KO's.

Yes, I mean outspeed/outbox. While GGG showed great lateral movement against Lemieux, I think Jacobs foot work is different than Lemieux's.
I will say that I was very impressed with GGG's jab and ability to box and move against Lemieux.Comment
