Canelo might realise when he doesn't boil himself down to a sultana and chooses to fight at 160 he could be stronger and better. Now that he has grown into a middleweight it might work in his favour. He must fight GGG at 160 or forever be labelled a coward. He knows it. I think he will fight him like a true Mexican warrior and he might even beat GGG.

I think Canelo & GB will use this as their way out of fighting Golovkin in 2016.

The question is, who will Canelo fight instead of GGG? Since he claims to be a 155lbs fighter, will he fight top-level JMW's like Andrade, J-Rock, and the Charlo's?

That is his prerogative if he wants to hang his head in Mexico with a moniker of being a coward with a yellow streak. Doesn't matter what weight they fought at he would get blasted out by Golovkin. When GGG moves up to 68 to clean that division out, Ward can get some then. (Even though he probably will be retired because Kovalev will destroy him this fall)

It will be a complete turn around from what Canelo has made a career of fighting 147 lb guys that come up and then he re-hydrates to 25 lbs heavier than them come fight night. That's a matter of opinion. I'm from the school of a catchweight is a catchweight. As for what "GGG would take in a second." Every public statement he and his team has made about the issue has said they won't fight below the 160 limit. So unless you have inside information or psychic. You're merely talking outta your ass in regards to what GGG would take.

Again dude, Floyd is the biggest star in boxing, everybody wants him. Biggest money, exposure, p4p acclaim. Ward and Hopkins said they'd drop to 160 for him. GGG didn't even want him at 160, he said he'd do 154 for Floyd. Lara is a no hoper with negative fan appeal, but comes expensive and with all kinds of political issues. And get this, his guys have never contacted Gggs. Pretty odd if they've been chasing him for years

Well there you go. We can at least agree that it's all about $. And I don't think the Mando carries as much weight as it did back in the day. Canelo is bigger than the belt.
