Golovkin wanting 160 and Alvarez wanting 155. I think GGG would be satisfied if he could get Saunders, Jacobs, and Tureano this year should Alvarez bow out. Eventually Canelo will need to move up to 160 at which point he'll have given up alot of his current leverage over Golovkin who will completely own 160 at that point.

Canelo's a ppv money maker right now, but will he hurt his market value if he continues without any dangerous opponents? If he stays at 155 and doesn't fight J-Rock, Andrade, or the Charlo's, how serious are his fans going to take him?

You seriously think Canelo vs GGG would only do 150k on HBO PPV?

Unless Floyd decides to come back and fight at 155, unification with Golovkin is by far the biggest fight for Canelo right now, not only on HBO, but worldwide.

K2 and GB had some discussions which led to GGG allowing Canelo one more fight before forcing a showdown next Sept.

I assumed that Loeffler had been told Canelo would budge from 155 if they gave him more time. We'll see.

And from the sounds of it, those discussions were to only delay actual discussions!

For K2, this is like fishing. They're trying to be patient in hopes of snagging the big trophy - Canelo & the WBC/lineal title. So far, Canelo/GB haven't completely ran off, so there's still hope of catching them.

I think GB regrets running Lemieux into Golovkin and running Alvarez into Mayweather. Neither of those fights were competitive and would've benefited both competitively and financially by delaying them a little longer. I think we'll see Canelo weight drain a MW like Heiland (lol) or Rosado in May, then rematch Cotto in September saying Golovkin won't come down and a Cotto rematch is worth more.

This guy blew smoke up everyone's ass with that 154-168 tough guy talk...."b...b..but he said that three years ago" and then turn around and try to justify Ward dropping to 164 by using a comment he made THREE YEARS AGO about dropping to 160 for Floyd.....yeah mutha****as, I'm keeping score and following every damn round....hypocrites in plain sight

Before Floyd picked Berto for his last fight, Lil G was STILL saying he could make 154 for Floyd....so what's the problem with 155 for Nelo?!?...there's a "politically correct" life raft floating in the DEEP waters that dudes tend to jump on when asked this...."it's for the 160 belts so the limit should be 160"....yeah yeah we KNOW all that....but strip down and take off the "masks"

154 is cool for Floyd because Floyd is a small dude who probably can't hurt Lil G....155 is not cool because Nelo is a strong Young Lion who can punch and it's possible he'd ice Lil G at 155...a weight Lil G is foreign to....is that the case?!?...I mean, WITHOUT jumping on the life raft....let's get deep!!....under all the "thou shalt play fair" holy bs, that's the reason right?!?...Floyd is not a big puncher but Nelo is

Pac vs Hoya was at 147...Pac vs Cotto was at 145.....Floyd vs Nelo was at 152....Floyd vs Cotto was at 154.....and those are the cats that get ranked 1 or 2 of the era....Nelo is just following the footsteps of the ATG "A" sides....

Golovkids don't wanna hear it doe.

Don't want to hear what? People have to be intentionally ignorant not to see a difference between moving down for a guy who is legitimately smaller than you and moving down for a guy who's already coming into their fights bigger than you.

Alvarez makes 155lbs because he's 25 years old, not because he's smaller than the average MW. Fact is, the last time Alvarez tried to make 154lbs, he missed the weight and never tried again.

HELL NO!!! It will do over a Million.

I'm just saying if the WBC has to choose. Right now Canelo is worth WAY more $$$$$.
