And for whom is this 'new racism' a more 'immediate concern'?

Respectfully (again), what you just posted sounds like a lame attempt (not saying by YOU) to redefine the word to avoid addressing the current and very REAL generational life-impacting effects of institutional racism by reducing it to the equivalent of name-calling.

      That's bull.

The one I live in is one where my family and the people I know respect and admire black people (and all others), one where I worked for 8 years for an African-American owned technology business; the owner who was my favorite boss ever, the world where I don't tolerate racism and do not make friends with people who hold racist attitudes, the world where I despise anyone who would repress or enslave another human being, the world where the best friend I ever had was black, the world where I enjoy the soul food cuisine, enjoy the culture and the music and the people and admire and respect blacks, the world where some of my money goes to help kids of all backgrounds with meals in Africa and elsewhere.

That's the world I live in because I make that my world and the more people who can do that, will live in the SAME world, a world where even on a trivial level as boxing, I have NEVER watched a fight and wanted a fighter to win or lose just because of his color, nationality, etc. Can you HONESTLY say the same??

Its about admiring and respecting everyone and others who do not look like you and NOT labelling them and building huge walls between them. I DO NOT agree with people who say white people this or white people that anymore than I do with people who say black people this or black people that, or Mexicans this or that. That is not how society evolves, it is how it declines. I am not being idealistic either, it is my reality and the reality of the few people I know closely. If someone is not on board with my world, I don't want to know them, period.

And as to prejudice and racism, racism in the current climate is easy to identify. It often uses items to degrade a group. Racism includes the use of racial slurs and by DEFINITION, any reference to a particular groups food, behavior, preferences, styles in a derogatory manner is racist. When Don Imuse called the black womens basketball team "Nappy headed Ho's" he was making a racial slur by degrading them and their hairstyle. When Adrien Broner said he was going to beat that burrito-eating dude, he was making a racial slur based on a food group. See the top of this paragraph....those references just made are about a groups food and style. If someone refers to blacks and makes a derogatory comment about fried chicken, that is a racial slur. Simple.

And Mr. Soul, if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. You talk about how you could "fill up a thread with their words". Anyone could fill up a thread with words from every sector. There are good and bad people in every group, nothing new. My wife who is the most charitable, sweet, accepting person anyone could meet - who does not have a racist bone in her body was on a bus when she was 16 and a black lady and her daughter were sitting across from her and the mother pointed to my wife and said "that is the devil right there". I have a close friend who has a heart of gold and accepts everyone and when he was a teen was taken down to a river and beaten by 3 black teenagers because of his color. They tried to kill him till a guardian angel out of nowhere showed up and scared them away. And today he holds NO hate for blacks because he, like anyone with intelligence and common sense, who isn't emotionally f.ucked up, knows that there are good and bad people from every sector.

If you only trust some whites and some mexicans, then there is nothing wrong with that, perhaps they have to build your trust before they can be called your friend. But if you blanket despise them all, then that is the height of ignorance and is categorically a mental problem. You should be attempting to bring down walls, even if only a few but it sounds to me that you are blanketing everyone which is part of the problem and you create the self-fulfilled prophesy that you despise in others. I reach out to everyone in my every day life and build bridges, not walls. I did that from the time I was raised in a ****** in Oakland to my current life in contra costa. I don't judge first when I meet people who do or do not look like me, I reach out to them with a warm smile and sincere demeanor and that's how I live. Are you doing the same, or are you letting the poison of hate eat away at you like acid till there is nothing left of your "soul"?

What the hell are you talking about???? Just because I'm not talking about institutionalized racism doesn't mean I think less of it. I'm discussing what the school systems I have worked in are exposed to in relation to what I have been discussing here which stems from racial slurs which occur both in school systems and from pro boxers. I don't have control over institutionalized racism, nor do I deny it as an evil that it is. That's why my discussion is toward people who make racial slurs whether in schools or from pro athletes - which is a HELL OF A LOT more than just name-calling, especially by public figures where it affects the masses.

If a black dude was doing what GGG is doing we'd all be on here on his nuts praising him including you but fact of the matter is there isn't anyone like that yet closest we have is Spence Jr and he gets hyped.
Want people to get hyped for you, fight fan pleasing and fight everyone you can in your weight division I hardly think a handful of race baiters on a boxing forum are going to change what people think.

lol - predictable as ever. The only game in town for the "men" of a certain demographic.

looks like 2016 will go down just like 2015 - this group of "men" crying racism over everything, blaming the mythical white man.

protesting, rioting, burning down building, attacking innocents- same playbook as always

Wrong. The real world for me is the one where I HAVE control over what I think and feel and I congregate with people of the same beliefs toward all ethnicities.

And my money goes directly to a charity that feeds hungry children and I know for a fact that my money has helped serve thousands of meals.

You very obviously do not understand all the definitions and sub definitions of racism! Racism includes institutionalized forms as well as a number of other branches of the word such as racial slurs. One is multiple entity involvments and one is single entity involvments. I will make it mathematically easy for you. A segment of racism includes racial slurs, that is a FACT! That is they call it a RACIAL slur! A RACIAL SLUR includes the insulting of a group of people using items such as fried chicken and burritos and non food items such as hairstyle or lifestyle or any object that can be tied to a group in some derogatory way as an insult. A) Don Imus and Adrien Broner made RACIAL SLURS! B) Racial slurs are a SEGMENT of racism and by definition are C) RACIST comments, which as mentioned are a part of D) Racism. Therefore a RACIST is a person who shows or feels discrimination or prejudice. That makes Don Imus and Adrien Broner, Racists.

                  Oxford Dictionary
                  Syllabification: rac·ist
                  Pronunciation: /ˈrāsəst/
                  Definition of racist in English:
                  noun
Definition: A person who shows or feels discrimination or prejudice.

And you keep alluding to the Maidana fight. Do you realize that two years before that fight, Broner in an interview made racist remarks about Mexicans on a world-wide boxing web site known as boxingscene.com???

And your "I have a black friend comment" is full of sht! I mentioned MANY, MANY elements of my appreciation and respect for blacks that reach far beyond my best friend and best boss ever comments. I don't give a sht if a person uses the "I have a friend comment" because my involvements with admiration and respect go far beyond that and it is obvious from the many things I mentioned.

And I mentioned being raised in a ****** because even though I wasn't black, I made black friends because I treated them as I would treat myself or people who were my color. I DIDNT JUDGE, I APPRECIATED my close friends, and yes, we were close and they trusted me and me them. That is my world!

You said you would be a fool to trust anyone who is NOT black???? Do you realize how utterly ******ed that sounds??????? You can be shot and killed and ripped off and have your lady ****d and have your things stolen by ANYONE, INCLUDING someone of your same skin color!!!! I'm not black and I would NEVER and I know a lot of people who would NEVER shoot and kill you and **** your lady and steal from you!! So do you trust a violent person with your skin color over a good natured person who doesnt look like you and who would never do those things to you???? I sure as hell wouldn't trust someone who looks like me over a black person automatically when I know the person who looks like me could have bad intentions, as opposed to someone who doesn't look like me! That is just common sense!

Hell, if you were standing in a crosswalk and a black man in a car saw you and went speeding past, almost hitting you and then a Mexican or white guy behind him slowed down and stopped for you, you are telling me you would still trust the black man who almost hit you over the guy who didn't????????? If you were told you had to make friends with one of those people, you would make friends with the black guy because he was your color even though he almost hit you as opposed to the other guy who did the right thing and stopped for you???? WHO would you be inclined to trust, someone who could have killed you or someone who made sure to stop and let you cross safely?????

You have a hell of a lot of growing up to do if you stick with your attitude of never trusting anyone who is not black. That is lame as hell. Those were your words, you said it. Good thing I didn't take that attitude long ago because I was ripped off by a guy with my skin tone and was not ripped off by my black friends. Obviously for you to feel this way, you are not exposed to social environments outside of your inner war or you would have learned that everything is on an individual basis, each person is accepted for who they are and how much trust they have gained and not by the color of their skin. This is just COMMON ***ING SENSE! The only explanation for your situation is you live in complete isolation from the rest of the world and have not developed socially by the sheer understanding that everything is on an individual basis and it is foolish to trust only people who look like you. Do you even realize how ridiculous that is???

Bunch of sellout Larry's in this topic, the type of f!u!c!king Larry's that would call an educated black man an Uncle Tom for speaking normal English and for pushing education to thier kids and not sports. It's sad that the only these types of Larry's are looking for a handout and if it doesn't go thier way they scream "it's because I am black" nothing new here

                    Aka f!u!ck! A Larry

Do you even realize how ridiculous that is???
you have a white persons definition of racism which doesnt have practicality in the applicable sense to the world
