Hopefully he actually puts up a fight here and makes Wilder earn this win. I really want to see Wilder survive Povetkin.

          When garcia stops getting gifts

When brook steps up in competion

When ward fights more than once in 2 years

When pigs starts flying (this has the most chance than all of the above)

One thing that Wilder's never let up on is his great jab. He's used it with brutal and piercing effect in all of his fights thus far, so even if he's not one his game it'll still be a big factor in the Povetkin fight, especially since Pov tends to struggle against taller guys with good jabs, or even mediocre jabs like Wach's.

Povetkin's also not got great head movement, so I see Jonty strafing him early and often with thunderous right hands.

True. And the reality is this is still arguably Wilder's 2nd best opponent like Glazkov was gonna be so its not as its as big a jump down as some would have you believe.

Everyone's resume tells a story. Wilder's story was I got some people with money behind me for his first 30 odd fights (its similar to Kell Brook's story). Thats a ****ty story I think we all agree, but I feel like he's fought more viable level of talent since winning the title & guys deemed world caliber by the alphabet groups that while lower leveled, lower considered are still ranked so its not like he's pulling some Tommy Morrison vs Tom Tomashek type **** here. Plus he does seem to be moving towards bigger fights which is what everyone should be doing. Wilder is just at a lower level doing it.

Wilder needs to thank Mark Breland. Breland had a great jab back in the day & I think is responsible for Wilder's. But yea 100% agree Wilder's jab is gonna play a huge part in any Wilder win vs Povetkin.

i always get a kick out of this:

"wilder is going to get killed by stiverne."

*wilder embarrasses stiverne [and actually shows some improvement to his boxing.]

                    "stiverne was a bum!"

I picked him to lose to Stiverne though it was partly due to the fact that we knew so little about Wilder's true ceiling at the time. I was perfectly willing to concede that Wilder might be better than he had hitherto shown us, and fair play to him he really took the bull by the horns and dominated Stiverne from start to finish, leaving no doubt in anyone's mind. Great, great performance and one that really raised my estimation of him.

Pity that a lot of the same people who picked him to be demolished by Stiverne were the first to turn around and belittle the win with the whole rhabdo thing. That's the same sort of attitude that people have towards Tyson Fury's wins, and it stinks. I have the feeling that a lot of people will do the same if Wilder beats Povetkin. Why people can't just praise wins nowadays is beyond me.
