Ali would at times get schooled in sparring but most say he was just working on defense. A young 14 year old Tony Ayala schooled Pipino Cuevas who at that time was the Welter Weight Champ. I at one time when I was 15 years old beat Tony the Tiger Lopez in sparring Robert Coons was my coach at that time and Joe Cloughs was his coach at that time. That sparring match took place at the Boys Club in San Bernardino in 1980 and of course many will doubt my story but I can care less

There's video of that. I wouldn't really say he got the better of him. Mayweather was just way out of shape.

To add to the topic though. Khan supposedly got worked by Kell Brook when they were younger.

Khan says otherwise but he gets dumb defensive when talking about it, so I don't believe Khan.

Mosley also rocked Shawn Porter with some half hearted punches. Porter from then on in the sparring was getting very agro,

We all know the Spence beating Broner around the ring story.

Morales getting the better of Floyd and rocking him is pretty well known.

I know there is probably some Cotto stories in sparring. I've heard behind closed doors his diva attitude is exemplified in a manner that makes his current reputation look like the fair haired boy.
ellie used to have some videos up (he took them down now) where a trainer who used to work with cotto said cotto was a spoiled brat and it was just a paint to work with him also gave a story where cotto came into the gym and threw a huge fit cause their was other people in the gym training he threw chairs and broke all the glass doors of the gym and took off.

Shane Mosley supposedly got the better of Golovkin. That one is surprising but it supposedly happened.

I heard a story but i can't remember which way around is goes. It was either Lewis was schooling Tyson during their first round of sparring and come back to the corner very shocked and then went out and put a beating on Lewis, or it was the other way around.

I've heard about GGG being too much for Kovalev to handle.

Also Eubank Jr. giving Froch all he could handle and more, which doesn't surprise me really. Not that i think he's better than Froch of course, but he's extremely athletic and quick, so in a sparring situation over a few rounds against a guy like Froch, i'd imagine he could be a handful.

Ricky Hatton got beaten up badly by Erislandy Lara while preparing to fight Manny and admitted this a few years later.
