It's already been proven to be true, although not the scared bit. Kovalev said that Golovkin was just putting so much pressure on him that he'd have to go all out to keep him off but since it was sparring he held back.

I believe that GGG is very well respected by all fighter from this era. He has a very impressive amateur career and is definitely a hard hitter and that gets respect from other fighters. There is no benefit from stating a fighter got knocked down in a spar session so I tend to believe it when it comes from trainers or managers, there's no reason to lie!
The session in question was some years ago and a very green Koval had to much respect and was probably tentative, no big deal.
Many times knock downs happen as a fighter is getting into shape and beginning spar sessions. Sparring is conditioning the mind and preparing the body and **** happens.
      Merry Xmas

It's possible he dropped him in sparring, it happens.

But there is no way Kovalev is scared of him, stop talking **** Abel.
That's what I thought when I heard this story a while back. Who knows what shape Kovalev was in during the session. At the end of the day I'd take Kovalev over GGG in a real match.

Abel is now as bad as Roach when it comes to talking nonsense. He is just irritating now.

No, I don't buy anything he claims.

Kovalev said himself that GGG is a harder puncher than him, and he doesnt wanna fight him.

They are friends, they are both unique and are the most exciting fighters on the planet right now.

Your credentials are being questioned in the Thunderdome. You should go defend yourself.

GGG is perfectly capable of doing that (knocking Kova's ass out in sparring). Kovalev doesn't have the best of chins, specially if he came unprepared as he claims. GGG's power and skill can't be taken lightly by anyone, not even by HWs. GGG routinely bullies cruisers and hw's in the gym, just ask Povetkin's sparring partner

You really think kov can hurt him? Gg has never been down and he let monroe hit hom multiple times right in the face. Kov has been wobbled and KO in the amateurs

LOL, good one. Nice fantasy. Reality= Kovalev would end Golovkin's career.

I would love to watch GGG spar King Kov and WARdana.
