is Latino/Hispanic a Race?

I'm the only one sick and tired of people saying latino/hispanic is a race?

I know it is not a Race but a culture heritage.

From what I know most latinos are either White(spanish/european),Mestizo(indigenous+european),Mulatto(afr ican+european) or some other mixture between European,Indigenous,African.........from my understanding....

Thoughts?

Rather than worry about whether a person is white, mestizo, mulatto, or some mix of the various categories, and to avoid offending anyone, I believe the default status of Hispanic is generally used (basically as a catch-all to represent all of the various indigenous peoples that the Spanish Armada settled upon ages ago).
