I think a more accurate description would be to refer to it as a mixture of races, all sharing that 1 Spanish background base and going from there. And, if you think about it, everyone in the world is a mixture of races, so it's nothing new. It's just that people like to categorize stuff into colors like if people were crayons, but humanity as a whole goes a lot deeper than that. But, I will say this, though, Latinos are one of the more "explicitly" mixed populations, with our combinations having occurred quite recently and not as hidden as others have been throughout history. In other words, we accept it a little more, contrary to modern categorizations, which basically act like if White people aren't African too >.>.

Being somebody who has distant maternal Latino heritage you don't even need that. Immigrants from Japan can be considered Latino, same with Poles, Germans, Italians. You just need to hail from Spanish speaking countries in the Americas or Brazil.

Latino/Hispanic just has to have Spanish blood and Indian/Indigenous blood and can have african, other european, arab, etc as well. Thats why cubans mexicans argentines etc are all Latinos. All could have different racial mixtures but share a common language and indigenous blood along with other mixes.

The spanish may be slightly different but is still understandable. similar to english here in the us having different accents in cali, texas, alabama, boston etc and also england ireland austraila etcs

I know it is not a Race but a culture heritage.

From what I know most latinos are either White(spanish/european),Mestizo(indigenous+european),Mulatto(afr ican+european) or some other mixture between European,Indigenous,African.........from my understanding....

Us latino nations often have rivaries among ourselves in sports and politics etc, but in foreign countries like the US and European nations, we unite because we have more in common than not.
