$300k sounds reasonable to me. and even if ward beats him easily, he's not going to KO him like a kovalev, stevenson or beterbiev would, so it shouldn't harm his career too badly

i don't blame them for trying to negotiate it upwards, but if they pass on $300k that'll be disappointing

Abel trains this guy....Abel said Ward didn't bring money and that's one of the EXCUSES he gave for not matching his Lil G against Ward...NOW the mutha****a is complaining about a low purse?!?...I mean, you can't make this **** up.....Ward would wash ALL of Abel's dingy ass fighters....and he knows it....**** Abel!!

Or beat Ward and get himself a better payday when he moves on to Kovalev.

I hope this fight happens so we can see how Ward looks against a legit LHW contender.

Guessing he'd be getting more than 300K for the Kovalev mandatory shot and would rather wait on that than risk it against someone as good as Ward. Hopefully RN up the offer, but 300K isn't loose pocket change and Barrera is at the level where he'd take that amount if he was certain of winning the fight.

It may come down to what Duva wants. Maybe she would prefer Kovalev not have to face Barrera so they can chase Stevenson, Beterbiev. Or maybe she wants Kovalev-Barrera to happen because she knows a deal won't happen with Haymon guys, there aren't that many top contenders in the division so may as well do an in-house fight.

You got guys like Monroe fighting the so called most avoided fighter for $100k and someone of similar standing turning down $300k to fight Ward. Ward is the real most avoided.

Last IBF mandatory to fight Kovalev was Mohammedi - he made $270k.

                    The fans certainly avoid him.
