Whatever Ward's getting, I'd take the 300k and fight him, if I'm Barrera.

If he can't beat Ward, he isn't going to beat Kovalev.
Especially when you factor in the hospital bills that would come with the Kovalev fight. Barrera could fight Ward, lose a competitive decision and work his way back up to a Kovalev fight later. Or he could fight Kovalev and maybe call it a career.

Yup as I figured Ward was gonna low ball them so they wont take the fight and then play it like he didnt want to face ward so then ward fights another bum.

Crappy Edwin Rodriguez got 1 million to fight Ward years ago and he was barely known. Barrera has at least been showcased on the networks a few times. He has a guaranteed shot at Kovalev. Shouldnt he get a little more than 300K?

It's not that bad of an offer, negotiations often start on the low end. Sounds like it's in the ball park, how much do you think Barrera should get paid?

How classy of loudmouth Abel Sanchez to negotiate through the press, by the way.
Is it confirmed $300k? If so, I wouldn't be surprised if ol Abe is just lying about pay issues, trying to avoid the fight while making it look like it's beneath his guy. I could have sworn he did something like this before, with another one of his fighters.....

it should be a 50-50 split since neither guy is known. maybe 55-45 in barrera's favor since its his division and he's entertaining

$300k sounds like a fair deal, but with Ward's bad rep I couldn't blame them for playing hard to get with Ward & trying to get more money doe. Barrera is about the biggest fight Ward has had on the table in quite awhile. Ward can't afford not to fight someone respectable & maybe Barrera's side is just trying to play that angle to get more money.

I don't know why anyone thinks Ward will fight such a live dog at 175 before his shot at Kovalev.

Funny that Ward's team makes an offer to Barrera after Barrera just won an IBF title eliminator.
Kovalev-Barrera is an in house fight for Main Events.
Low ball "offer" to fight Ward in Oakland or title fight vs the man at LHW...tough decision for Barrera here.
Wonder what Ward's "offer" was? Agree to 80-20 split now for a fight sometime 12-18 months from now? lol

Ward's team is probably waiting on an email from Kathy Duva declining the "offer" so they can release it to the public.
